The notification feature on the Ionic is very unstable as are a lot of the apps. I am finding that they don't work more often than do. It is very frustrating. Especially when Fitbit continues to introduce more features that have the same issues.
Last week, I updated the firmware on my Fitbit Ionic and lost all notification functionality -- no call, no text, no calendar. This update did provide the new Quick Reply feature which is useless without receiving notifications.
This morning I spent an hour or more on the phone working with Fitbit Tech Support and made no progress.
Perhaps legislation should be created that prevents advertising or charging for a feature if it does not work reliably for more than 1% of the customers that use it. And if it initially is reliable and is made unstable by an upgrade compulsory refunds should be made.

Have a Google pixel. Updated over the weekend and have not received any notifications at all. Have tried deleting the tracker and re-adding, resetting the tracker, turning Bluetooth on and off and just about every imaginable "fix." It's obvious the update broke notifications as I see I'm not the only one. Pretty disappointing. It there a way to roll back to the last update?!?

@memphis297 @Pedsnurse29 @Incuchris Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with Fitbit Ionic not receiving notifications.
It is possible that the notifications set up need to be reset in order for them to work again. For this, I recommend following the steps on this helpful article about notifications. Follow the steps on the order given, check the requirements there too. I'm sure you should find this useful. You will find steps for every platform available. Follow the ones for your platform (Android, iOS, Windows). It is not possible to roll back to the last update.
Try that out and let me know how it goes!

Are you not getting notifications or is the device not vibrating to alert you to a notification? That was my issue. I found out from chatting with support that if I turned off Fitbit Pay AND Device Lock I received the vibration alerts. This might not be your issue, but might help others.

I'm new to the Ionic but I have found through other threads that Verizon's Message+ texting app is not compatible with the Ionic. If that's what you are using for texting, that might be why.

Yes that is what im using! Do you know why or if it will be fixed? My

I do not know why or if it will be fixed. Took me over an hour on chat with support to figure out that was the issue. When I used the texting app that came with my phone (Galaxy S7) it worked fine. I only have the Ionic so I can't speak to the Versa.

It did work for me. Unfortunately I need to use Message+ for group texts for a softball team I help coach so until the season is over I won't be receiving texts on my Ionic.
