The notification feature on the Ionic is very unstable as are a lot of the apps. I am finding that they don't work more often than do. It is very frustrating. Especially when Fitbit continues to introduce more features that have the same issues.
Last week, I updated the firmware on my Fitbit Ionic and lost all notification functionality -- no call, no text, no calendar. This update did provide the new Quick Reply feature which is useless without receiving notifications.
This morning I spent an hour or more on the phone working with Fitbit Tech Support and made no progress.
Perhaps legislation should be created that prevents advertising or charging for a feature if it does not work reliably for more than 1% of the customers that use it. And if it initially is reliable and is made unstable by an upgrade compulsory refunds should be made.

After the new update, I lost my texts coming in on my Ionic. My calls will show up. If I went to the fitbit app and clicked on Messenger (blue). Then I could received texts from Facebook. So the problem has to do something with the Message+ (red) link.

I am having the same issue with my Ionic since the update. I have tried all of the trouble shoot options on the link and no help. I am not getting any messages or calls on my Ionic. Both my ionic and fitbit app has notifications turned on. It was working just fine with no issues before the update. I made the update over a week ago and still no notifications. I am starting to get annoyed! HELP!

This is incredibly frustrating. To buy an expensive piece of equipment and have it not worked after an unwanted "update". I'm looking at everyone's posts here and for whatever reason, there seems to be no resolution.

Hello everyone! Thanks for your continuous participation on this thread regarding Ionic not receiving notification since last firmware update.
Our team has received the feedback from everyone in this thread and is working to investigate these reports further. It seems that there is a bug that will prevent messages from the Messages+ to arrive. I will share updates from the team when I hear them. Thanks to everyone for your reports and understanding. In the meanwhile, you could try selecting a different app.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Keep me posted!

I am not getting notifications on my ionic. I have an iphone 6s and everything is updated. I have tried every fix I have read on this board. They will clear it up temporarily and it soon stops working. I did start my blaze up again and I receives notifications correctly. My ionic was working when I first got it. It was two ionic updates ago when it stopped functioning.

It does not work on Versa either. My wife just got a versa, and she has a Samsung Note, I gave a Galaxy S7. After the update neither one of us get text. I get everything else though. We both use Verizon Message+

Since the Message + app wasn't working with the fitbit, I had switched to the regular Messages app (yellow) which will send notifications to my Ionic. However, when in group texts, it will randomly send the messages outside of the group text. Often times it will send multiple copies of the same text! So frustrating! They need to resolve this soon!

I can reset everything and notifications will work until I connect to another Bluetooth device such as headphones. Then notifications quit working until I reset everything. This started two ionic updates ago. Was working in the beginning. I restarted my blaze and notifications work flawlessly on it

I have tried all tips&tricks in the link.
None of the notifications does work.
Are you changing the software/firmware soon? (Android7, Samsung S6, Fitbit Ionic

Hello everyone once again! Thanks for your participation on this thread regarding Ionic not receiving notifications since updating to OS 2.1. Thanks for trying all the workarounds and troubleshooting steps. Also, thanks for your feedback.
I wanted to inform that a new firmware version was released yesterday for Ionic (OS 2.1.1 or version 32.10.20). This, as usual, is a progressive roll out so if you haven't received it already; you should in the following days. This update includes fixes so it is worth giving it a try. Check this post for more details.
Hope this helps. Let me know the results!

I just updated my ionic this morning and I still can not receive any notifications. I tried all of the various listed notification fixes in the phone (galaxy 7) settings, fitbit app settings, and the ionic device. Still no notifications. I know vibrate works bc it's still tells me to move 🙂
Please tell me there is something you all are doing to fix this issue .

I have the 2.1.1 update. Notifications worked initially when I did the update. But today, they have stopped working again.

@Tricia2487 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for updating Ionic. Also, thanks for sharing your experience with notifications afterwards.
Please restart Ionic and try these notifications troubleshooting steps. This should help out with this.
@jeff219 Thanks for your reply and for updating as well as providing those details. Please try the steps I left on this post about restarting and troubleshooting notifications.
Please let me know how it goes!

Hello, i have a similar issue. I updated my fitbit, and instead of losing the notifications, they are all delayed by up to about a minute. For texts and other things, this doesn't matter much, but it makes the call alert useless (and really annoying when my wrist starts vibrating AFTER I've already answered the call!)
I did a factory reset on the Ionic and reinstalled the app on my iPhone - still the same.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Why does this happen like every 6 weeks. I just want to use my notifications. Please fix. Worthless to waste an hour with customer service when they just have me reset everything

@cudz Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for reporting the situation you are experiencing with notifications being delayed.
I'd recommend trying to set notifications once again. Also, I contacted you via PM. Please keep an eye on your Community inbox.
@emilym I hope you're doing well! Thanks for reporting this with customer support. Please check the Fitbit app for Ionic updates (new version 32.20.10). You should get it soon. This includes fixes so please update as soon as you can. Check this post for more details on this.
