Hi everyone!
Thank you all for taking the time to let us know that you did not receive Sleep Stages last night.
Our team is aware of the outage and has since resolved the issue. You can expect to start receiving sleep stages again tonight.
I also want to assure you that this outage was not related to the recent OS 1.2 update that was pushed to Ionic users. If you have not already done so, you can safely update your firmware once you have received the notification to do so.
Thanks so much for taking the time to report this! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

No issues updating over wifi last night, but my sleep stages failed to initiate after the update.

Did a succsessful update last night. However the sleep tracker now appears to be broken. I slept for over 6 hrs as I normally do but for the first time I only got a simplified (no sleep stage details) view. I know it does this if you get less than 2 hrs sleep.. but over 6?! This as a bug in the new OS or f/w.
As sleep metrics are one of the reason I purchased the ionic, I’m hoping this will be ironed out in a couple of days.

I’ve had the ionic for 2weeks now, never had any issues with hr and it has given me full and accurate sleep stages every night. Updated yesterday and today get simplified sleep data. Shame as I thought the sleep tracking was one of the few things the ionic did well!

In last 2 days I lost the sleep stages beautiful graph and giving the fact that I did not update to the new firmware yet I think it's the Fitbit server that got broken... I don't know for sure how things work with Fitbit but usually the sleep data processing takes place on the servers so that beautiful sleep graph is not made by the watch or the app... the sleep data goes from the watch via sync to the Fitbit servers, processed and returned as a beautiful graph.
Now about the update.... I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware at work via Bluetooth (because I don't access to any wi-fi here). It's taking forever.... 35 minutes passed and it's at around 20-25%.
It's incredible slow.... please don't make my mistake.

Are you serious with this update? I am usually optimistic about updates and assume the new software will work better than the previous version.
It is definitely NOT the case with this one. You actually BROKE functionality with a new software update? I also lost sleep stages as many others have reported, sync is all over the place, and yesterday after I did 2 workouts they were not loaded in the app on my phone, seeming completely lost.
The real testament that you are working with old **ahem**ty code for syncing with mobile apps is the fact that you actually have 3 toggles related to sync settings, All-Day Sync, Always connected and Keep-Alive Widget. Can you please acknowledge that you are not sure what exactly works and what not so you keep patching the same legacy app instead of having a clean BT connection method like chinese companies selling $20 trackers manage to have?
This is a $300 smartwatch and the software is making it unacceptable!

I also lost sleep stages. UI seems to be a little quicker (It was a complete joke before - especially when you exit an app) but still not smooth.
But sleep stages disappeared. Bummer.
Not to mention that the changes log of the update is not amazing. That's everything you guys worked on since the last update?
The App Store is still a joke.
Notifications stopped working a while ago but I gave up on them.
Overall - a serious, serious disappointment. And this is coming from a years-long Fitbit fan (started with the first Charge).
Get your s*** together, folks. Please.

Several folks here stating that the upgrade broke sleep stage functionality but my sleep stage functionality did not work last night either, and I hadn’t updated yet. My wife and her friend's didn’t work last night either, and they both have different models. Maybe something else going on. Where is the sleep stage processing performed? On the watch, app, or server? Can a Support rep confirm?
Orher folks also stating on here on here that the update broke other functionality like sync. I confirmed today that all the functionality on mine is working fine. Not sure why an update would break functionality on some units but not others. Weird.

I updated my Ionic yesterday and now no sleep stages. I am very disappointed as they were working perfectly before I updated yesterday. Please advise what is going on?

Guys @NHMike @Lisahowe66 @Tony.r @fastboyslim @RealSting @Rcarr lost sleep stages 2 days ago, and I am only trying to update the watch now, it's still updating as I am writing this.... I think it's not the update... might be the Fitbit server that deals with the sleeping data processing.

Sleep... I haven't had any issues with sleep graphics for months. So to check, I deleted last nights sleep record. When I do this to join or correct an entry it always works and gives the correct graphic representation.
I have re-created it and deleted it twice.. on the PC and once on the phone..
Result: the OLD type of sleep record, so it has to be a server issue... During all of this, I also re synced the Ionic..
We will see what happens in the morning.. Nearly midnight here.

@MattFitbit, the first two nights after the firmware update, the Sleep Stages recorded normally, but the third night they reverted back to the old format. Nothing changed on either the Ionic or the Android app during this time. Is this an issue with the Fitbit servers, and not the Ionic?

When are Fitbit going to address the issue we are all having with sleep stages? Some acknowledgement at the very least and maybe, I don’t know, an apology(?) might be reassuring...
