OK. Winter is coming and that makes some folks ornery. Well put on those shoes, build up some body heat and step it up!
How It Works:
The purpose of this challenge is to keep track of your daily step goals for October 2017. This is not a competition to see who can do the most amount of steps, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of 31 for the month can you hit your goal.
Some of you might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and some might have a variable goal throughout the week, for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = 6k steps a day
Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for this challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.
Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 31.
Optional
3) Post either your constant or variable (anything you want) goal.
4) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved / 31.
The optional items list has grown over the past months. That's why the title has steps in (). In the end it's about setting goals and improving habits. So the optional items can really be anything. Running, biking, weight lifting, food goals, etc. Some will add a goal that is not daily - ie. wanting to do so many strength training workouts in the month - so you might be aiming for a number that is less than 31 for some goals -- maybe 5, 10, or 15. Really, it's just completely open.
Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and decide scale back the number of steps due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your daily step goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

Yesterday just wasn't a good day. I didn't even have the effort to step those few hundred more steps at the end of the day. Oh well. The streak was good as long as it lasted 🙂

Yesterday was a lifting day, and I really felt like I screwed up something in my shoulder doing an incline bench press. Pain stuck with me all day and I was even winching just raising my hand straight up. But much better today. Not gone, mind you, but much better. Looks like I'll have to go to lighter weights for shoulder/chest work for a while.

A pretty good month! Got in one extra weight-lifting day, kept my daily push-up and pull-up streaks alive (at 90 days on each of those), and managed a serving veggies for breakfast all month.
Trying to to increase my strength and muscle, so for November I think I’ll add a (gasp!) weight gain goal. (I know, EVERYONE gains in November and December, what a convenient time for a weight gain “goal”).

Ending out this month strong! I didn't hit my goal, but I was a lot closer this month than last month. I'm still thinking about what my goal for next month will be. I know I'm going to increase my step count but I want to add at least one other thing.

What is November going to be? Naughty November, Nasty November, Nice November, ???

Nasty November for me. I have to have surgery on the 20th so I will be unable to walk much for at least 4 weeks

@JMBgmx @benvegi — Nasty might have been more appropriate for me too since I’m nursing a shoulder strain. Affects my bench press the most but the daily pull-ups and push-ups too. But I decided to be positive and go with Healthy November. See you there.

Ended up not going out for lunch the weekend before Halloween - woke up with a killer migraine and bailed at the last minute. I'm thinking of reworking Nov's goals... off to post now.
