Well I guess the weekend splurge didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I am by no means where I want to be, but am very happy with it for now. I have to still lose another 4 ounces to get back to where I was this time last month, so it was a bit of a set back, but I am moving forward. I am going to "try" to make this a good week for me and not do any splurges so that "hopefully" I might could make my goal. I will just be happy to get any closer to it.
We have a dinner date on Friday night, but I will prepare for that through the day so I can save calories and be sure to drink plenty of water so I don't overeat as well.
I have a set of twin granddaughter's who are having their 10th birthday party on Saturday, but I am figuring I can make it through that with out to much struggle... I think. lol. I'll try to eat before we go and then there will be a lot of kids so I should have plenty to keep me busy and not pick at finger foods...lol.
Well at least I am preparing my mind for this weekend..lol. Now I have to work very hard to get my steps in and make this happen. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday!

Feeling kind of discouraged that the scale hasn't moved in two weeks. I bouonce up and down by 0.2# but no real change. I'm staying on target as far as food. I'm active on the weekend and try to get to the gym a a couple times a week. I just started a new job so I am having to adjust my schedule for things. Just feeling frustrated. As restricted as my eating is I feel like I should be making more prgoress. thanks for letting me vent.

@Kimbur96 I know the frustration of staying still weightwise while doing everything 'right'. Hang in there is easy to say but hard to do. Nevertheless I say "hang in there!!!" you are making progress and your body thanks you for it. Keep your focus on where you will be six months from now, smile and keep on the road of health!! We are with you.

@philchenevert and @Kimbur96, as time goes by I am becoming a bigger and bigger believer that a calorie is not a calorie in terms of weight loss. There can be many things stalling weight loss and I am pretty new at all of this myself so I will not be so foolish as to prescribe anything to you, but I will suggest a ton of reading and maybe consulting with a nutritionist. There are competing theories about weight loss but I think the best start is being honest. So, if you are being truly honest with yourself about what you are putting in your body and you believe you are eating what you should and it is not working, then maybe you should reconsider the makeup of what you are eating. I have had great success with a balanced LCHF approach. I did not go crazy no carbs but I keep my carbs low and stick to healthy whole foods as much as possible. I eat good amounts of protein and fat daily. I never walk around feeling hungry or deprived, I just feel fueled and full of energy. I hope you find the balance that works for your body and lifestyle so you can acheive a sustainable lifestyle change that will land you at a healthy weight and a healthy body. Cheers.

@Kimbur96 Part of what may be stalling out is that your activity isn't consistent. A good weekend doesn't necessarily help if there isn't much going on during the week. With a major life change like a new job, things may be a bit off, but trying to get in a 10 minute walk during the day can help get that calorie burn moving upward again. I know that if I don't do that and get away from my screen/desk things slow down quite a bit. Keeping your food in line is a big deal too, you'll get there!

Start: 231.5

10/4/16: 219.0 (-5.25)
10/26/16: 221
2/8/17: 222.75
Mini-goal: 210 (4/29/17)
OK, so I'm up a bit from the last time I got on the scale, but considering that it was almost four months ago, a couple of pounds isn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be. I'm actually pretty proud of myself for maintaining that well for that long.
Due to travel for holidays, being sick over the holidays, being sick with uppper respiratory crud for the past month, etc., I haven't been as tied to my FitBit as I'd like, and I can tell in that I'm not sleeping as well as I do when I hit my step goals.
I've moved into the "Prep Cycle" for my black belt as of last night, and it seems that this is as good a time as any to re-start my efforts to move downward, since I'm pretty much forced to be active six days a week. We have three classes a week for a minimum of three hours, with our class on Sunday being for 6-8 hours. Last night was our first class, and we did almost 1500 jumping jacks, around 80 pushups, and way more time in plank position than anyone would want to in a three hour period. It's 12 weeks of pretty intense work (we also need to maintain at least two regular two hour classes a week outside of the prep cycle classes) but hopefully by the end of the day on April 29, I'll have my conditional first degree and be at my mini-goal. Many people have told me that this prep cycle put them in the best shape of their lives, which includes routine 10K runners. Nutrition is going to be a very big deal as well-no fuel in the tank makes for a pretty unpleasant several hours-I hate standing up and having the world spin just becuase I wasn't smart enough to eat right.
Here's to the next goal! When I hit this it will be the lowest that I've been in almost a decade. Can't wait to get there!

Here I am again!
Start: 253 lbs
Last Week: 169.0 lbs
This Week: 167.4 lbs
Change: - 1.6 lbs
Total Loss: - 85.6 lbs
Goal : 125
Considering that I am 85 pounds lighter and have been slowly adding calories, my new theoretical "average" is now 1.5 pounds per week. So, today I weighed in at about what I expected. Weight loss inevitably slows down the smaller we get, but each pound lost is more visible on a smaller body, so it's all good!

Happy with my small loss. I twisted my knee this week and have had to rest up for a few days.

@AuroraKat- your comment reminded me of the paper towel analogy. I was going to look for a write up, but I found a YouTube video that shows it in action. She did miss adding in the point that the same amount of weight lost on a smaller frame shows faster.

Thank you all for your encouragement and advice. I did get out on my lunch break and get a 25 minute walk in. With the new job I will need to figure out how I can get my workouts in. But at the very least I can walk during my lunch break.

My first weigh in...
When I got Aria, I got serious about tracking.
Jan 24: 190.8 lbs
Jan 25 188.4 lbs
Feb 3 186..6 lbs
Today, 186.9 lbs
Addendum: just checked lean muscle weight on the fitbit stats. My lean muscle weight is up 0.3 lbs. So I added muscle without burning more fat. That's good!

Jan. 6, 2017: 201.4 lbs (not my all-time high, but highest over the past 12 months)
Last Sunday: 196.4 lbs
Today: 195.6 lbs
-0.8 lbs (a little under my goal of 1 lbs/week)
Goal Weight: 165-170 lbs

UGH. This week has been hard. Kids have had the flu. I'VE had the flu. No time or energy to work out and I have this bizarre craving for junk food whenever I'm sick. Still, I managed to lose a lot, so yay!
Last week's weigh-in: 184.7
This week's weigh-in: 181.2
Weight change this week: -3.5
Weight change since January 1: 12.8 pounds!!
All in all, not bad. I'm trying to stay motivated by that weight loss, even though I haven't worked out in days. Feeling a little better today, but still not up to exercise. I made steak and all the fixins for dinner last night and was completely exhausted by the endeavour.
Now to survive the rest of my run of tamiflu. This stuff makes me SO nauseated!

So, made some changes this week, which I'm planning to keep up for a little while. I got off the 'as many steps as possible' train as I do think it was wearing me out. I've gone back to a 10,000 step goal. I'm trying to hit them before dinner to give me some time for myself at night. I eat dinner usually around 7pm so it's not really hard to do. It means I'll probably end up at around 11,000 steps (although yesterday it was 15,000). The other change was to drop my defecit to -750 calories. I'm probably only going to do that for a while, but it's better than just coasting for too long. Although the last visit with my family doctor his suggestion was to aim to lose the next 100 pounds over 3 years. I'm just not sure I can do it that slowly, but I understand the point with my past history. I don't always believe in time-based goals, so I'm really thinking if I end this year under 200 pounds that would make me happy. I don't think I've been that weight forever. Pretty sure I started highschool heavier than that.
