Week 4/12 of cutting phase during which I’am trying to lose between 0.25 and 0.50 kg per week in average:

Week 0, ending 4-Jun-18: 64.4 kg, 14.2k steps, 2819 cal.

Week 1, ending 11-Jun-18: 64.7 kg, 20.2k steps, 3162 cal. -> +0.29 kg

Week 2, ending 18-Jun-18: 63.6 kg, 21.8k steps, 3098 cal. -> -1.17 kg

Week 3, ending 25-Jun-18: 63.1 kg, 17.2k steps, 2952 cal. -> -0.47 kg

Week 4, ending 2-Jul-18: 62.6 kg, 23.4k steps, 3128 cal. -> -0.44 kg

I continue to be close to the lower limit (red curve) of the targeted weight loss range:

I’ll be aiming for -0.5 kg this week too. On an unrelated note, I’ve been putting more emphasis on leg work for the past nine months and I’m starting to be pleased with the development:

I’ll have to learn how to flex my quads, and maybe I should shave them and oil them to enhance the look Smiley LOL.

@Jotex, No unfortunately it was not a grad party for me. It was for my Niece who graduated from High School. But my Wife and I were there all day to help set up and stayed well after it was over just hanging out with the family. It was a really hot day, and so tempting to grab those ice cold beers and have some salty snacks. At least my willpower mostly won out and I stayed within my calorie burn for the day.

A bit of a bummer on the weigh in this week only down -0.6 pounds. Should have lost closer to -1.5 pounds with my -750 a day deficit. However the silver lining is my measurements reduced in the normal range. I have been doing some new exercises at the gym and my sessions have been getting a bit longer over the last couple of weeks. So maybe I've just put on a bit of muscle.

I am now a month into my current goal to lose about 18 lbs at the rate of 0.5-1lb/week down to the bottom of my maintenance range, 155 lbs.  The idea is a slow weight loss while lifting weights so that, hopefully, most or all the loss comes from fat rather than muscle.  I am on track at the 1/2 lbs rate, with another 0.3 lbs off this week.

I have to say that losing weight slowly is not as motivating as when I was dropping 2 or even 3 lbs/week sometimes last year, but as @Jotex, says a loss is a loss!  Have a good week, everyone.

                                             Ave. daily calories in last week.

  • Sun, 6/10:    167.3 lbs  2901  (end maint/begin cut)

  • Sun, 6/24:    166.5 lbs  2692
  • Sun, 7/1:      165.5 lbs  2861
  • Sun, 7/8:      165.2 lbs  2781

-0.3 lbs since last week, -2.1 lbs since June 10.

Goal Range: 155-165 lbs

I had a couple of social occasions during the past week that had me pig out, which took a toll on the weight loss, in spite of having a relatively high activity level:

I will try to do better during the forthcoming week and get closer to the lower band of my target range.

First time post.

I started my weightloss journey on 3/28/18. At the time, I was close to 280 lbs. I decided to quit drinking diet soda, stop eating out, start managing my food and exercising regularly. My sister joined me on this journey as well. I am currently at 239 lbs. I have incorporated walking, time at the gym and this summer we joined an aquasize class at our local pool. I am happy to have currently lost 41lbs. I feel better about myself and hope to continue my goal to get under 200 lbs.

Continuing my planned slow weight loss of 0.5-1lb/week down to the bottom of my maintenance range.  This week I dropped 0.9 lbs  down to 164.3 lbs according to TrendWeight's moving average of my weigh-ins.  I am starting to think a pound a week might be too fast at my weight and I may be losing too much muscle mass along with fat loss.  Comparison of weigh-ins at 165 lbs below shows no change in body fat since last time I was there.  So I think I will try to eat a little more or move a little less this week to slow the loss back to 0.5 lbs if I can.

Lost ½ k (just over a pound since last week), but I had been bouncing (up and down ...) before that. I think you’re right @Baltoscott — ½ pound (about ¼ kilo) per week sounds good. As they say, “Slow and steady wins the race.” And my doctor told me last fall that a loss of 1 k (2.2 lbs) per month was great!

I had my annual blood test last week, and was curious to see if any of my ‘values’ had changed since I’ve been (more or less) on a keto diet AND counting steps (= moving MORE) for 10 months. All readings were all still within the normal range, and  he said my blood pressure and pulse were like that of a 15-year old girl! {Imagine!} 😊

I don’t know @Jotex.  All the 15-year old girls I’ve known are high stress and high drama.  If your pulse and BP are like that you better be doing the breathing exercises on your fitbit. 😝. Congrats on your physical.  Mine came back good enough a couple of weeks ago that my doctor agreed I no longer need to be on the statin I’ve been taking the past 15 years.

@Baltoscott -- 😂! Well, I think at might be true in the States (though perhaps NOT in my home state of Texas 😇), but I think he had a Swiss teenager in mind (lots less stressful over here). Thanks all the same. Congrats on your test results and being able to drop those statins! Whoop!!!
