@MarilynL  I wrote a note to you on the 65andfit,freeforums,net weight chart.  I'm posting weekly all over the place it seems.  In case you don't go there.  So sorry your fell.  Glad you were not hurt worse.!!

Today I weigh 115.8   That is 3 pounds less that 3 weeks ago.  Not eating anything between meals is helping me lots.  I have even managed to have a little wine.

Yesterday I was 135.4

Yes, I went crazy and last Sunday was suddenly dying for bread. I for sure have had none in 6 months perhaps longer. I bought this wonderful warm baguette about 2 ft long ! I don't love the fluffy inside of bread so I throw that away which I suppose is a good thing. Nevertheless I had the first quarter stuffed with this wonderful aged Shropshire blue cheese and aged cheddar with salty pickles on top. How utterly Devine! I generally don't eat dairy either but I do allow it on special occasions.

Then the next quarter I toasted and had with slathers of salty butter. Even more delicious. It was so good that I had a third quarter also with butter.

The last quarter I could not stuff in and the agreement with myself was to only have all the goodness on Sunday. Monday morning out it went in the garbage with water soaking it to make sure I did not regret my good thoughts 🙂

Of course my weight was up 2lbs!!!!!(137) on Monday but that was the price. I essentially did a water cleanse on Monday and dropped to the above weight more or less all week.

From this Monday I am resolved to eat in a new patten. I have been eating a LOT of delicious fruit in season and although it is healthy in small and moderate amounts it still has fructose and causes the pancreas to be very busy.

I am going to cut the fruit to only WEEK ends in the hopes that the bit of belly fat that I have will dissolve. It would be nice to loose a further 5 lbs but I am not pushing that till we can be a bit busier and that I am not near my kitchen so much.

I also prefer to eat 16/8 but its been more of 14/10 which is acceptable but not as good.

So those are some of my goals for the coming weeks. Anyone else doing something interesting with the way they eat? I'd love to know.

@MarilynL  Bread is such a hazard.  There is some jalapeño bread in my freezer.  You were smarter to soak  bread and put it in the garbage.  Most people eat more on weekends, especially Saturday night  dinner or Sunday lunch.  We all need a break now and then!  Having 3 real,  low calorie but satisfying meals, with nothing in-between, and less alcohol, works if you want to try that.  Or even as much alcohol maybe, if you can do it with no snack.  Salty almonds go well with wine. LOL

Down for the second week in a row. Haven't quite recovered from the 2 week vacation at the beginning of August, but a half pound increase in a month with two weeks vacation is pretty good. 🙂

@MarilynL -- I like bread too. When you find yourself in a craving like you were in last week, I think you were smart to toss the part you don't like so much, and also recognize when you had enough and remove the temptation by throwing out the rest.

There have been points in my life when I ate a lot more bread than I do now.  Mostly because of sandwiches. I used to eat sandwiches every day, and chips or fries always seemed to go with those. Egg sandwiches for breakfast, BLTs, burgers, hotdogs, cheesesteaks, deli sandwiches etc for lunch.

When I lost weight a few years ago part of the reason was that I pretty much stopped with sandwiches, burgers, etc. Initially I went with the trick you see in low carb diets of just throwing the bun out and eating the meat, cheese, etc., realizing that you save a lot of calories by skipping the bread. But eventually I realized I was replacing those calories with something else. Maybe more snacks later in the day.  Eventually I embraced salads for lunch that included less processed carbs like chickpeas, black beans, and wheatberries or farrow for fiber along with a protein and all the veggies that you might put in a salad. (Having the less processed carbs in the salad helped me feel satisfied until my planned later afternoon snack). My focus was on adding things, more veggies etc, rather than excluding things, but by skipping the whole concept of sandwiches my bread consumption went down a lot.

I do still eat bread, but not as much. I get a nice sliced artisan loaf, about 2 lbs, put half in the freezer and work on the rest throughout the week. Generally just a slice a day as part of an afternoon snack (with peanut butter, humus, or guacamole on top) or with eggs on top  in the morning. We've got a lot of garden tomatoes right now, so those sliced up go good as a topping over eggs or most of the afternoon spreads -- other than peanut butter.

@MarilynL  I wish that cool weather would drift my way.  It is only going to get 4 degrees cooler here.  Snow in Denver Tuesday.!!!  I'm fatter today;  don't worry though, part of your increase is elimination I'll bet.  My weight goes up and down lots all the time.

I've bitten the bullet and bought myself a set of digital scales that'll be here tomorrow (gotta love Amazon Prime!)

According to the surgery scales I'm currently 52kg and the nurse wants me to get up to around about 57-58kg by the time I go back in January and I wanna aim to put on 350g a week which is 1.4kg a month which will just about take me up to the start of January and that magical 57-58kg.

I obviously don't know what the new scales will read yet, but starting on Monday (assuming I remember lol) I'll weigh in every Monday morning before I have my breakfast so that I don't cheat lol

I'm hoping that by making it public like this, it'll inspire me to keep turning my graph red instead of blue or green.

Time for me to hit the sack now.  Nighty night-night all!

The scales have just arrived, so I've just weighed myself on them and my starting weight according to these scales is 51.5kg so I've lost half a kilogram since Thursday lol

I'm gonna do my weekly weigh-in after I've had my breakfast and hopefully NOT soon after I've been to the bathroom 'cos that's most like what I was like when I was weighed at the surgery and was told I was 52kg.  Gonna start my morning weigh-in to find out what these scales say tomorrow morning then my first official weigh-in here on Monday morning as close to the same conditions as possible.

Just to keep a track of my weight between now and January, I'm gonna create yet another spreadsheet and graph for all my weigh-ins so that I can produce it for the nurse if she needs to see it in January... is there a way to do that within the Windows 10 Fitbit app though please so that I can keep all the information together and hopefully have it recorded along with all my other Fitbit data in one place?  Doesn't matter if there isn't, I just wanted to ask before I forgot is all  🙂

Thank you so much.

Almost back to where I started in July 🙂

@AmandaGeorge — if you enter your weight into Fitbit, you can go to settings on the web app (gear icon on your dashboard) and then look down the left hand side for data export.  From there you can export your weigh-ins (and other data you have in Fitbit) into CSV or Excel files for current month, previous month or any period in the past up to 31 days/ download. To get all your weigh-ins for the rest of the year, you would have to export files for this month, October, November and December, and then cut and paste entries into a single file.  After that you could graph them.

Or, if you are ok just doing a screen shot of your weight graph, you can set that to any time frame no matter how long.  Here is my history of weigh-ins on Fitbit through the middle of last month.

First weigh-in on the new scales - 52.9kg which is about right 'cos I was 52kg on Thursday when I was weighed at the medical appointment and I'm hoping to put on 250-300g a day to take me up to 57-58kg by the middle of January when she wants to see me again to see how I'm doing with putting the weight on.  Hoping that I'll break through the 53kg by the time I weigh myself next week.

Today I weigh 117 and would like to weigh 110.    I probably weighed something worse last week because I can't find where I posted it anywhere.  I am 5'1.5 inches tall. in case you wonder.

Might be worth checking with your doc or nurse to get advice about your weight, @Glenda, 'cos I'm 5 foot and my nurse wants me to increase my weight to 57kg (approx 125lbs) before January.  You're taller than me and weigh 100g more than I did on Monday so maybe a visit to a medical bod to get advice about your weight might be a good idea?

@AmandaGeorge , we are all different, and ideal weight also depends on age and other factors and is ultimately quite personal.

I am about three quarters of an inch taller than @Glenda (not really sure - I used to be 5 foot 3 and a bit, but I am prety sure I have shrunk!) and I have in the past year gone up from my usual weight of 118 lbs (53.5 kg) to my current weight of about 125.  While that weight is almost certainly not actually unhealthy for me, I am pretty uncomfortable with it, and I know it is too much for me to feel good - even though it might be just right for you.

I also know that people would tell me I was too thin at @Glenda ’s preferred weight of 110, but it might be just right for her.  When I am 118 no one comments on my weight.  When I am 116 people say things like, “You look great, but don’t lose any weight!”  Thst’s where I like to be.

Apologies for not posting in this group for a while!  I have been following the progress of all of you and cheering your success and sympathising with your setbacks.  My weight, which I gained over last winter and especially over lock down, has remained stubbornly consistent, so I have had nothing new to report, and also I have just returned from being away for three weeks without access to a scale, but I am determined to tackle the extra pounds now and get back to 120 at most.  I prefer 116, but that is hard for me to maintain.  I might have to accept I won’t get there, or stay there.

Very good points @Julia_G!  I can only go by what my nurse told me and my clothes size which is 57-58kg and size 10 (American size 6 I think) so that's what I'm aiming for and it just seemed to me that wanting to weigh less than me but being taller wasn't healthy is all.  I'm sorry for my mistake  🙂
