I resumed my mass gaining phase after a 4-week minicut that wasn’t too successful (only lost  0.23 kg). The past week went well, gained 0.20 kg (vs. 0.25 planned).

Here are my numbers for the past week (including average step count and energy expenditure):

Week 0, ending 18-Dec-17: 60.2 kg (13.0%), 11.2k steps, 2523 cal.

Week 1, ending 25-Dec-17: 60.5 kg (13.4%), 5.9k steps, 2390 cal. -> +0.23 kg

Week 2, ending 1-Jan-18: 60.6 kg (13.6%), 14.0k steps, 2629 cal. -> +0.17 kg

Week 3, ending 8-Jan-18: 61.1 kg (13.6%), 16.2k steps, 2887 cal. -> +0.49 kg

Week 4, ending 15-Jan-18: 61.7 kg (13.8%), 17.9k steps, 2932 cal. -> +0.54 kg

Week 5, ending 22-Jan-18: 62.3 kg (14.4%), 10.3k steps, 2731 cal. -> +0.64 kg

Week 6, ending 29-Jan-18: 62.1 kg (15.0%), 11.4k steps, 2536 cal. -> -0.27 kg

Week 7, ending 5-Feb-18: 62.4 kg (15.4%), 13.1k steps, 2742 cal. -> +0.34 kg

Week 8, ending 12-Feb-18: 63.0 kg (15.5%), 13.9k steps, 2926 cal. -> +0.60 kg

Week 9, ending 19-Feb-18: 63.5 kg (15.8%), 11.7k steps, 2714 cal. -> +0.56 kg

Week 10, ending 26-Feb-18: 63.8 kg (16.0%), 14.5k steps, 3028 cal. -> +0.26 kg

Week 11, ending 5-Mar-18: 63.9 kg (16.7%), 17.6k steps, 3026 cal. -> +0.11 kg

Week 12, ending 12-Mar-18: 63.5 kg (16.4%), 12.4k steps, 2622 cal. -> -0.47 kg

Week 13, ending 19-Mar-18: 63.8 kg (16.2%), 14.2k steps, 2868 cal. -> +0.33 kg

Week 14, ending 26-Mar-18: 63.6 kg (16.4%), 14.0k steps, 2851 cal. -> -0.20 kg

Week 15, ending 2-Apr-18: 63.8 kg (16.4%), 16.3k steps, 2870 cal. -> +0.20 kg

I’m now 0.85 kg ahead of the plan, which is not too bad:

Lost a pound this week, which is a bit disappointing because I had been losing -2 per week for the last month. But I suppose weighing in the day after Easter may be throwing things off a bit. Two meals involving ham on the same day may have not been the best dietary choice. This upcoming week is my last week of my cut phase before starting maintenance. I have been doing -1000 daily calorie deficits, but this week I am going to do -750. I did notice at the gym this last week I was getting a bit fatigued so I figured maybe -1000 is a bit much now. The plan is to ramp down over the next few weeks towards maintenance.

Week 1 -750 daily deficit

Week 2 -500 daily deficit

Week 3 -250 daily deficit

Week 4-5 +0 daily deficit

Week 6 start another 12 week cut at -750 daily deficit

I will be interested to see how your wind-down to maintenance works out @HisDudeness.  Your current loss rate of 2 lbs/week the past month seems to match what your 1000 daily calorie deficit would predict perfectly — except for the past week.  Keep at it!

I’m on travel to San Diego this week.  Worked yesterday and today, and will play tourist with my wife and visit with some friends over the next few days.  Decided not to log my food for the week just to see how things play out.  Turns out this will be the first time I have NOT logged food for 451 days according to MyFitnessPal.  Wow 😲

451 days of not logging food IS a long time, @Baltoscott! I’ve had to restart a few times, but currently on my 256th day of logging on MFP.

To cut to the chase, my weight went up slightly, to my dismay. 😔 Was highly motivated and losing (albeit slowly) until stress dropped in (uninvited) and I reverted to my comfort foods and eating more than needed. On the positive side, I realized it as it was happening and hopefully will find a better coping mechanism next time. Wish me luck!?

Not logging for a week while away from home was refreshing, but I’m back on the logging bandwagon today.  My weigh-in this morning was up 0.7 lbs (169.2 lbs compared to 168.5 lbs last Monday). I’ll have a better sense of where I’m really at next week once TrendWeight has a chance to work it’s magic of moving averages over my daily weigh-ins this week, but it appears I’m getting close to the end of my planned bulk (170 lbs) and may have to start cutting calories in a couple of weeks.

Good news and bad news for me. First off lost 1.4 pounds this week which is about right for a -750 daily calorie deficit. The bad news I replaced our 15 year old spring scale with a digital and I weigh 11 pounds more! Arrgh. Quite disappointing that I was heavier than I thought I was. But I am trying to keep things in perspective that I am still down 19 pounds. -500 calorie deficit this week as I ramp down into maintenance.

Week 1 -750 daily deficit

Week 2 -500 daily deficit->Current

Week 3 -250 daily deficit

Week 4-5 +0 daily deficit

Week 6 start another 12 week cut at -750 daily deficit

I am looking for accountability also as I lose weight. I will try to weigh in with you on Mondays. I use pounds, though ... ! Ok? This is from 2 years ago I see now - are you still interested in a weekly weigh in?

Start weight 265 lbs (8/1/2008)
Now 211 lbs (4/6/2018)
Goal 150 lbs
Gain this week __? will check next week.
Loss to date 54 lbs
Next Mini goal 195 lbs

Welcome @marge8ac.  Not everyone from the beginning of this tread is still here, but a lot are.  Lots of good info and many good progress stories in the thread so read through as you have time.  Contrats on your loss to date.

FYI - if you want you can edit your post by clicking the 3 dots at the top of it.  I’m guessing your ultimate goal is 150 lbs, not 250 lbs, right?

I skipped a few weeks logging because I get obsessive with it but I did weigh in and record it.  After over two years I guess sometimes I just don't bother logging in but I still want to be part of it.  I'm pretty happy with myself.  I had snuck up a couple of lbs and have really tightened down again and it's coming nicely back.
I know I mentioned alcohol a few months ago and I took a month off of drinking.  I thought that showed I was fine so I started allowing myself a drink here and there again and now I was back to a nightly whiskey so I think I'll kick that again.  I'm not a raging alcoholic but it's a distraction and it's getting between me and my goals - so I want to release what doesn't serve me.
