Fitbit One not syncing anymore (rest seems to work fine)

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

my fitbit one isn't syncing anymore since last friday april 23. Everything else seems to work fine. I can charge it no problem, it is showing steps and all that.

I have a pc with fitbit connect, and it doesn't sync, but neither does it sync to my iPad and iPhone, which used to work fine (until apparently last friday) (I of course know about the need of BT etc... being enabled).

I have been on a holiday from sunday until now (wednesday evening), and I have walked a lot (and beat my previous step records), so if I have to restart the fitbit one (as read in another topic), does that delete the data that hasn't been synced so far?

thanks in advance,

Winny

Answers to your questions:

1) last time I was able to sync was April 27, 2016

2) iPhone 6, using latest iOS v 9.3.1

3) on home computer where I also cannot sync, have Windows

4) not receiving any error messages, on iPhone when I start the Fitbit app, simply see the little spining wheel and Fitbit says 'looking'

Also to note: Have had my Fitbit one Since Dec 2013, have periodically had this 'non syncing' issue but never for this long

Has happened around times when Fitbit launched new product, suddely the Community would be full of messages re: Fitbit One not syncing.  Usually fixed by new version of the Fitbit app, but all updates to the Fitbit app have not helped with this issue

Tried all suggested troubleshooting items including:

-plug Fitbit into my home PC and press the Reset Button

-ask Fitbit to 'sync now' while Fitbit plugged into charger on home PC with wireless dongle attached

-on iPhone, turn off then back on the option for Bluetooth

-uninstall then re-install the Fitbit App on my iPhone

-make sure I install all updates to the Fitbit app (already did this)

-make sure iOS on iPhone up to date (it is)

Curious - my husband and I got our Fitbit Ones at same time (Dec 2013, then he needed a new Fitbit One (reset button no longer working) - got him new fitbit approx 1 year ago.  He has not been having any sync issues with either his phone or on home PC.

My call to Customer Support got me the following answers:

-my Fitbit is old (Dec 2013), not under warranty any more

-while Fitbit is aware of software and syncing issues, they don't know what the issue is

-since my Fitbit is out of warranty, I was told I would have to buy a new one.  Did that, it just arrived

Windows 10 using Fitbit Connect App.

Fitbit One has not sync'ed since last Wednesday.

Tried forced sync on Fitbit Connect. No other fitbit device in the house. Device next to Dongle.Says cannot find device.

Tried update. Loaded update. Still cannot find device.

Tried resetting the Fitbit. Still cannot find device

Tried another dongle. Still cannot find device.

Uninstalled Fitbit Connect.

Installed new Fitbit Connect. Now I cannot login to Fitbit Connect.

Reset password (8 times) so far. Each time "Problem Login In. Authorization failed". I still can login to www.fitbit.com with the passwords I have chosen.

Anything different I could try?

My husband loaded Windows 10 and I didn't know it.  This is what I did and it sync'd for me:

I called Customer Service.  This is what they recommended and, fortunately, it worked for me!!!  Not sure what everyone else is being told, but maybe this will help some of you guys......

From Fitbit Cust Service:

If you haven't already done so we suggest restarting your tracker:

1. Plug your tracker into the charging cable, which needs to be connected to your computer. Please make sure that the gold dots on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger. When you hear a click, you will know your One is in the charging cable properly.
2. Hold down the button on your tracker for 15 seconds.
3. Remove your tracker from the charging cable.
4. Press the button on your tracker until the screen lights up.

Your One should work normally. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll continue to investigate. We hope this gets you back on track.

I tried Syncing after this and it did!  Hope this helps!

Here is what I was told and it seems to have worked for quite a few people, so I will post again...  guessing there isn't a guarantee it will work for us all!

My Fitbit One was not synching, it was out of warranty but company sent me a new tracker anyway. I've had the new tracker for over 3 weeks and it does not synch to my iPod, getting a new tracker did NOT help. I spent 2 hours on phone with a tech doing all her tricks, she finally said their engineers would have to solve the problem, but as I said, that was 3 weeks ago

1. I can force a synch using app on desktop, haven't been able to synch to my iPod for over 2 months, company sent me a new tracker and that hasn't ever synched to iPod either despite spending 2 hrs with Customer Support trying all her tricks, she said the engineers would have to fix the problem
2. I'm trying to synch to an iPod
3. version 9.3.1
4. when I try to synch from iPod I get message "Oops, something went wrong, Please try again."

If the new tracker the company sent me isn't working, why would I spend $100 to buy another one?

My Fitbit one stopped syncing to my IOS devices on 5/8/16. Worked well since 2013. Time to move on.

From my conversation with FitBit customer service 2 weeks ago, they said my 2013-purchased Fitbit no longer covered by warranty.

Fitbit works fine, but would not sync with either PC or iPhone 6.

Customer Service said I should replace w/ new Fitbit, gave me a 25% off coupon.

Received yesterday, no problems syncing on either phone or PC

You're right - move on, get another Fitbit or get something else.

@Be50Gone Which steps helped you resolve the issue? That would be super useful to provide here so others experiencing the same symptoms can try it out too.

@LSLisa Just to confirm, reinstalling the Fitbit Connect software resolved the issue for you?

@jehatwhitland @Youlunda1 @Puffin2014 As some time has passed since you last posted here, are you consistently syncing now? Just wanted to check in to confirm if you're back up and tracking.

@pwjz @SunsetRunner @NancyE I recommend restarting the One again and then attempting to sync with the wireless sync dongle. If you're unable to sync with this method, do you get an error message on Fitbit Connect?

@KRdA Thank you for sharing what worked for you and giving me an update. Glad to hear that you're back to stepping!

@ApyCB Thanks for sharing that you're back up and running with your One. Glad to hear everything worked out for you.

I was not connected and when I went to check the download, it had uninstalled, so I reinstalled it. This happened twice but the last time it stayed installed..... so far!

and yes, tracking now for going on 5-6 days without any problems. Knock on wood. I did completely take it off my tablet and haven't tried to put it back on yet though!

what resolve my issue was not waht I think of as a solution - Customer Service said I had to buy a new Fitbit (mine, though it works at tracking fine, was out of warranty and over 2 years old).

New Fitbit (for which I got a 25% discount) syncs fine with my iPhone 6 and PC

So, I have no steps for the Community re: what works, other than to say syncing is working for me on a new Fitbit.

Too bad the folks at Fitbit couldn't fix their software

Because my FitBit One only was to weeks old, Support was so kindly to send me a brand new one.

I now installed the fitbit app on my PC with win 10, put in the dongle and up came a message that it needed an firmware update. After the update the FitBit One was found by the computer and the  connection was a reallity.

Funny but after a reboot of the One, it still say FitBit 6.60 as before...

Thank You Fitbit.

*Hope this can help others.

NO, as I posted earlier this week, despite receiving a new tracker, I am NOT able to synch to my iPod, I get the message "Oops, something went wrong, please try again". since I don't carry my laptop everywhere with me to force a synch, about the only thing I can do is look at my Fitbit and see how many steps I've walked.

Now, I just tried reinstalling the FitBit App, it's on my list of apps on iTunes but has disappeared from my iPod. So now I really can't synch using my iPod.
