One Availability and Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting.

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

@JEH1  How are you calculating sleep efficiency? was never quite sure how they came up with that number (I figure it's some thing like hours in bed divided by hours actually asleep figured by subtraking the awake or restless time or what not) but I liked seeing it and missed it when it vanished with the new "improved" sleep graphs. I'm not sure if I'd go to the effort of calculating it myself ... but I might if I knew how.

*** One more thing I really wish Fitbit could improve upon here in the forums is somehow connecting a "reply" to a specific message. I'm getting email notifications of simple responses like "I agree" and I have no idea which message they are referring to. I wish they were layered like on Facebook!

I agree with @phv Discontinuing The One leaves a large share of your market without a truly viable alternative. I wear wristwatches, and the features I want in a fitness tracker cannot be found entirely on one of the other devices. I would really hope that FitBit will reconsider this marketing strategy as many of us do not want a wristband, but we want more than what the only other FitBit clip device offers. This is truly disappointing.

Comparison of Garmin Vivofit 3 clip vs Fitbit One clip.

Vivofit 3 does every thing One does except floors, Vivofit 3 comes in a wristband the clip is sold by Garmin as an accessory. You can also pair the Vivofit 3 with a chest heart rate monitor.

Cost for both is about from Garmin is about $5.00 less than the One. I still love my One.

Hopefully Fitbit replaces the One if not this is a viable alternative.

As always, Good Luck to all of us that love our One!

Thank you. Since the altimeter on my One has gone haywire, this is good to know.

So do I.

@SPL-BR  Cool how you put images IN the post showing the Garmin and One side by side.  I have pictures of the One and the Alta in an aftermarket clip (put them on my blog http://jenbsjourney.blogspot.com/2017/12/fitbit-one-done-alta-alternative.html).

So I know many are so upset at Fitbit that they'd choose the Garmin over the Alta, just because they no longer want to support Fitbit if Fitbit isn't listening to customers ... but I myself am not willing to give up my Fitbit continuity, Fitbit Friends, etc just to make a statement 😉  The Alta (worn on the torso/pocket in a 3rd party clip) has everything except floors too. Still prefer the One though ...

Sounds like the Garmin Vivofit is the best alternative to the One. Too bad
about the stairs, but I would trade stairs for a clip on tracker, as I
definitely will not wear a wrist tracker.

I would really miss the stairs count. I think when my One dies I'll find a device that counts stairs and find a way to clip it on. Of course, my hope is that Fitbit will re-introduce the One or something like it... A girl can dream, right?

The Flex: Absolutely not. I can't believe Fitbit is ignoring this wave of customer feedback. The altimeter is an essential feature, now even more because I'm tracking stairs to help me decide when my mobility is affected enough to decide on a knee replacement.

One thing I haven't seen people mentioning is the silent alarm...I used it all the time when camping, and the backlit display is helpful in the middle of the night. I wanted to buy another One (which would have been my third) because I can't synch mine for love nor money anymore, and although my app says an update is available it simply won't update.

I'm pissed off enough at Fitbit to buy any other product than what they are currently offering.

ScrapjenB - I have seen your blog post either while doing research or on this forum.

I am not trying to make a statement just trying to provide alternatives, which i think is the purpose of this forum.

I love Fitbit and have purchased (2-Ones, 6-Zips, 1-Charge HR, 1-Ionic, 1-Aria) and have recommended them to countless others. I have used Fitbit as my main tracker and personally use the One and the Ionic but I also have a collection of watches that I also enjoy wearing.

I am also a Garmin customer and use their products as well. The reason that I posted the Vivofit 3 as an alternative is because it is purposely designed to either be worn on the wrist or as a clip on. The Alta is not. Floors for me has never been accurate and does not factor into my choice but my Ionic (the most expensive Fitbit) registers nothing when pushing a shopping cart, while the One does.

I hope that my One continues to last but it is several years old and unfortunately Fitbit does not offer an alternative without going to the aftermarket. I personally will probably end up with the Garmin and will begin comparison of the One vs the Vivofit 3 soon.

As always - Good Luck to all of us that love our One!

But it's the floors we all want!!! Can't Fitbit get the through their
minds!!! I'm sure the employees of FirBit don't actually do physical work
or the might understand there are a lot of people who don't wear jewelry on
their wrists! What a way to treat a group of people who helped built
their company with our purchases.

It is not about sticking it to Fitbit. It’s about not wanting to wear it on my wrist. I don’t want texting or heart rate. I just want to slip it in my pocket during the day for steps, active minutes, and flights, and then use it to track my sleep at night.

Agreed. I still hope (against all reason, at this point) that Fitbit will bring back the One or something like it. I cannot wear a wrist-based tracker. I don't need a lot of new features (although I wish we could see our active minutes in real time, as opposed to the growing flower), I just want to be able to get the device I need.

Does anyone know if you can log other exercises with the Garmin Vivofit? I often do exercises that don’t involve a whole lot of steps like swimming or weight lifting, but with my One I could log it online and still get credit for working out.

The Vivofit 3 automatically captures walking, running, biking, swimming and elliptical. You can also enter manual activities in the Garmin Connect app.

I typically run with a Garmin and enter the exercise in Fitbit, but have also entered information into the Garmin Connect app, such as weight (I have an Aria) and calories.

The Garmin Connect app looks totally different but captures the same information.

You can check it all out on the Garmin website.
