One Availability and Alternatives

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting.

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

It's obvious Fitbit is not interested in the Fitbit One users. Every few months, they close down one forum and shunt us to another. To suggest we resort to an over-priced pedometer or a bulky, inaccurate wrist 'tracker' is insulting at best. The title of this forum says it all--Fitbit doesn't care if there are people who can't wear a wrist tracker but still want to count floors. I, along with many others, may decide to finally leave Fitbit. If there is no non-wrist tracker way to get floor count, I'll go for an inexpensive, accurate pedometer.

Irmp - My One seems to be dying as well. Full charge yesterday, dead this morning. Luckily it came back after a charge. FYI the Vivofit 4 is a wrist based tracker and does not have a clip. There my be a clip available for the Vivofit 4, aftermarket.

Good Luck to all of us that love our One!

Lately, I could not sync the One.    ( many attempts  over different  days) .  What happened?

It seems the in house software program that used to support the One has been modified or gone.

Mine is also not syncing as of feb28.   Our company counts steps for discounts on insurance.  They're  costing me money not supporting the one!!

I had to reboot my One on Monday to get it to sync.

Thanks for sharing this information with us. !!! Right now what I've done is purchased a new FitBit One with accessories! on eBay. I bid the highest @ $100 It was a real good deal, right?

Also I experimented with the MisFit tracker product and it made me see that FitBit does have the best tracker program.
It does it all for you. Saves lots of time!
Also the tracker is battery operated (wow are those little batteries a challenge to install. Also because of the batteries there's a delay in registering. I could go on and on with negatives but I think you probably see where I'm going with this.

So I have Misfit to thank for opening my eyes!! It's the program! It's all about the program.

Thanks for your email.

Thank you for the update. However, I like most don’t want the wrist like device and the alternative is less appealing. I liked the fact that I could wear it under my cloths. If one of your othe trackers can be clipped under my cloths I’d consider it. I’ll continue with my One until it no longer works and will look for another product at that time. Which seems like it won’t be a FitBit product.

For those of you with Syncing issues ... I would try a "soft restart" (plug into the charger base and hold down the button until you see some numbers pop up ... this doesn't lose any of your steps). Another thing, are you using your computer or an app on your phone? There used to be a "Fitbit Connect" option to force a sync with the computer, and I haven't been able to find that for a while. If the dongle is connected to the computer, it should be syncing every 15minutes if the device is in range. This has been quite inconsistent of late, but still does seem to be syncing sometimes. I use the app to do an immediate sync. I had some problems with that lately too and had to restart my phone/disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth, etc, but got it syncing. I'm a little addicted to my Fitbit feedback, so I sync every day ... often multiple times a day!

Took your quiz.  Nothing meets my need. If the Charge 2 could be worn under cloths it would be a nice alternative.  Something to consider.

If Fitbit won’t resurrect the One, why not at least offer a clip for the Charge 2 so those of us who can’t or won’t wear a wrist tracker would have a reasonable replacement for the One. It might also keep Fitbit users from switching to another company’s product.

When my One died, I reluctantly got a Charge 2 as the smallest Fitbit tracker that counts floors. I also bought a stainless steel band with magnetic clasp. I slip out the magnetic end, wrap the band around my bra strap and tuck the Charge 2 into the bra. At night, I reinsert the strap so I can wear the Charge 2 on my wrist to track sleep. As an added advantage, while in my bra, it counts steps and floors as accurately as the One did.

Fitbit take note: When the Charge 2 is worn on the body rather than the wrist, it accurately counts steps and floors.

Debjh,

When my One died, I broke down and got a Charge 2 which I currently wear a under my clothes…I got a Stainless Steel Metal Bracelet with a Magnet Clasp:

To wear it under my clothes, I undo the magnet end, loop it around my bra strap and tuck the Charge 2 into the bra. At night, I reinsert the magnet end so I can wear it on my wrist to track sleep. Not an optimal solution but it works. Not only that, it tracks steps and floors as accurately as my One did. Just think—if Fitbit made a clip-on for the Charge 2, they’d make us happy while improving their product’s performance!

That eBay One sounds worth a try.

While the Charge2 is larger than the Alta and the One ... if someone (doesn't have to be Fitbit) made a clip, it might make the majority of Fitbit One users consider it as a replacement as it does have the floors option. Although it is more expensive and the heart rate function would be useless in a clip.

While Fitbit did make a necklace for the Flex 2, they seem to not recommend wearing the trackers meant for the wrist somewhere else. When I did my own experiment (still wearing my One with my son's Alta in a 3rd party clip on my torso) I felt the numbers were consistent enough. It's the wrist wearing that seems inconsistent to me!

My son has the Blaze model, and while he likes wearing it as advertised, he can't when he plays basketball and would like a clip option. I think all the devices would benefit from it, even though they are larger. My old Omron pedometer that I wore on my waist was pretty huge and I wore it for years!

@SPL-BR: Thank you so very much for your suggestion in my thread One vs?? It was very helpful for me 😙. I have done a bit of research about the Garmin vivofit 3 that you have suggested. It looks very interesting 😃. In my research I have also found out that the vivosmart hr + also can be worn in the socks (like some of us do with our one). I haven't found any clips for it yet. But I would say that the vivosmart hr + also is a very good alternative to the one. So, again, thanks a lot for your suggestion about the vivofit 3 😃 I'm so very delighted for it 😙

Thanks, Sue , I'll remember this when my One  dies. There's also a woman on Etsy who makes little fabric holders for various fitness devices. That might work better for those of us who don't want metal against our skin.

I have one of the creations from the woman on Etsy for my Alta. Its fantastic!! At night I clip it on a sport hair tie I have. But am seriously thinking about buying one of her fabric holders for wrist wear at night.
