Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.
As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

The truth of the matter is... they are not going to revive the One. That much is clear.
I have been trialling a VivoFit - took it away to the US with me...
Positives: One less cable to take with me and to have to remember to charge.
Negatives: Apart from lacking stairs... not many really - the third party clip works fine, as I would imagine a similar clip would work for a FitBit Alta which is what I would have settled for.
But after trialling it and running it alongside my Polar HR monitor when I was playing tennis yesterday... honestly what I miss the most from FitBit was its comparatively easier integration with MyFitnessPal.
Both the Garmin and Apple were a lot trickier to get to connect as an app for steps. I am trialling Apple for a week, but I suspect the Garmin will be a lot easier and a little more accurate in that regard.
If I have a run of freelance work, then I might invest in an Alta to do a proper review of both side to side...

@RFS_UK I know I would love to be a "tester" for companies products! 😉 I know big bloggers or those with a fitness following are often comped products to write up reviews. After all the reviews and recommendations of other products offered as possible replacements here ... I'd really like to try them all, even though I'd just use them in addition to Fitbit(s). I'm stuck on Fitbit... I don't like change, I like the continuity of my Fitbit data, and I hadn't even thought of beyond the device and Fitbit feedback itself. I am connected to MFP and that is very important to me. My Fitbit is also connected to Achievement (a reward app, $$ for your movement) and not all other apps/devices are (although they have more than just Fitbit).
... but I'd love to try other products in addition to Fitbit. I had been looking into the Motiv ring as an additional tracker for me. The ring is actually twice the price of the One ($200) and doesn't show nearly the data as Fitbit, but it's attractive and I've been curious about it. I even ordered the plastic ring set (to make sure you get the correct sizing) and tried it on a couple different fingers. I was surprised that I found it uncomfortable. 😞 I admit I'm not a jewelry girl, I only wear my wedding ring. The ring was a bit in the way, just rubbing against my other fingers. More so as I gripped the elliptical handlebars. I take my wedding ring off for weight lifting, (I never got around to a weight workout wearing the motiv prototype but I'm sure I'd feel like I needed to remove it there too). I think it would shift my hold on a tennis racquet too. I do love data, and I haven't ruled the ring out completely, but just can't commit at that price (and reading some of the existing reviews, some positive, some negative).

I am a sports journalist by trade, so these kinds of reviews are right up my alley and while I have some time at home before heading off for the next few tournaments, I may as well put my ever growing monthly unique numbers to good use.
I have developed strong SEO and Social Media management skills in the five years I have been on the circuit (I am mainly a tennis writer) so we have a great audience for this kind of stuff..
Gonna be tackling VivoFit v Apple Watch (and MFP of course) and Polar HR monitors this month hopefully before I trek off to the wilds of... well... Stuttgart!
I would have hoped that FitBit would have offered us a discount to move to their 'alternatives' but alas no - but I have a few months of back salary to send my way so I might do the Vivofit and Alta side by side throughout the clay (and maybe grass) court season as for all the upcoming tournaments (6 in total in the 13 weeks of the European season) and see just how they compare. I have to walk from digs to metros and tournament venues so it would be a perfect testing ground I think.

Yeah I got hammered before for daring to say that Fitbit were being awfully shortsighted in this decision.
Tough. These are their competitors. Unfortunately for my job, the easy integration of apps on my phone with the watch that shall not be named means I would never consider it.
However, I don't have an awful lot of confidence in its step counts so will really look to run the V-word, Fitbit Alta and the A word altogether fora good 6-week meandering-about stint and really get a sense of which is good and which is not.
A relative has the Charge, I think and goes for a walk everyday, but my watch really did not know what to make of tennis last night! Which is why I only ever measure my cardio/exercise with a heart rate monitor actually over my heart!
I am actually warming to this task now... Will try and get the Alta ordered before I go away and a clip and look forward to sharing the findings with you all!

darn I'm on my 3rd One and seriously would buy another - mine is all scratched up but still syncs perfectly.
I don't like the wrist options and think the other non-wrist is a bit clunky.
bring back the One please

and the zip doesn't have a charging option - i've heard the batteries don't last long and are too pricey

From JEH1: << I think I may really have violated a rule. I have not had any answers from
the moderators about what cross- posting is. Is it posting the same post on
two different boards by mistake? >>
I'm not sure what it means in this context. Usually, it means that one poster - asking a question, or answering one, for instance - posts at the same time as another poster who's answered it. I have no idea just how one cross-posts with oneself.

I had a post deleted because I had cross posted. I hadn't done that intentionally, and when I asked them how it had happened, they never replied.

I am late to the thread, but I am so glad I found it. The same thing happened with my One and fit bit kept insisting it was something I did wrong with charging it. However it's clear that this battery issue is an on going. Now the only tracker that I liked is gone. The wristband option is just not working for me. My wrist broke out and I don't find it very accurate. Example: if I'm gardening I'll be using my arms a lot and my arm movements are counted as steps. It is rather unfortunate that of working on the One's battery issue, fit bit would have preferred to completely scrap it therefore alienating thousands of its customers.

Welcome, PoisonIvy. It's just about impossible to understand why Fitbit has done this. A desire for people to "see the devices" taking precedence over keeping enthusiastic existing customers just doesn't make any kind of sense, but there we are.

Hello Momice
Do you know what a cross post is?

Thank you Bryan M,
Somehow it seemed also as a criticism of the moderator so I am not sure if I posted to the wrong board.

I assumed cross posting meant I had posted the same message in more than one forum, but I hadn’t. So I’m not sure. They sent me message saying that my post was deleted due to cross posting, and when I asked them to clarify, they never responded.
