Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.

As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.

Please note that we will continue to support the One and, if necessary, provide replacements for devices in warranty.

We do know there are many fans of the One who would like to discuss alternatives and have created this thread for discussion and merged a few posts together. Please keep in mind Community Guidelines when posting. 

At this time, feedback has been shared on the One status and there are no plans to bring this particular tracker back at this time, we will not be able to comment further.

Thanks, goinkle. I counted eight out of 32 - and they tend to be in HR and marketing - but that's certainly more than showed up on the page I found.

The only alternative to the One is to explore other brands.  Too bad, I really liked Fitbit, but they've pushed me out of their customer base.  Once my One dies/breaks/is lost, then goodbye Fitbit.  That's too bad because I would happily give you more of my money for another One (as I have already done there times).

I've worn the One from the beginning when it was just called a Fitbit. Somewhere along the way, it became classic. I have bought 30 or more Fitbits over the years, for me and for family and friends. They wear them too (since 2011). But natch, Fitbit has let me down.
I wrote to request that they continue with the One or similar clipon. This is the response (I cut off the end blather)

What a riot.  If they were listening they would improve the Zip or get rid of it and bring back the One.  I guess they think that they can make people wear a tracker on their wrist.

They have no "other possible options" for those of us who can't wear a wrist tracker. And while a majority of their customers may find said wrist-based trackers "comfortable," what about the minority who don't? They've just said that the One is popular, so why are they throwing away those sales? None of this makes sense, unless they imagine that everyone will just give in and buy wrist trackers (and put them in our pockets, I guess). It's just bad business.

Another happy with the Fitbit One.  My iPhone X can do just about all the things that my Fitbit One does so I will just shift to a newer device, my iPhone X, when my Fitbit One belly's up.

That's a very good point. How long until Fitbit goes under because they've been replaced by newer technology (like more sophisticated phones)?

I have an Apple Watch (but switch to 'old fashioned' watches from time to time as the need arises!)

It will be a bit fiddly to get the Apple to update MFP in the same way... but from what I read, not impossible. The issue Fitbit have with their watches is I use a number of apps and get messages on the phone to alert me (sports results, whatsapp messages etc) - they can't compete with that in my view. 

Also I have to say Fitbit's smart watches are butt ugly. They are huge so for a girly like me with super thin wrists it would look like I had a square satellite dish on my wrist! 

I run a sports website so might start looking at a post to compare clip(able) trackers (Garmin, Alta)

I have used the One since 2013.

Mine is malfunctioning now, shutting down during the day, awaking after keypress with 6.64, not having logged activty for hours. I want a new One.

Same here.  This is my 3rd FitBit One, but since it is no longer available, I must end my 5 year relationship with FitBit.

I posted on 2/12 and suggested the Garmin Vivoki as an alternative. As I stated in that post I love my on but have many other watches that I wear regularly including the Fitbit Ionic. I still believe that the One is more accurate than any wrist worn tracker, my Iconic - Fitbit's most expensive model does not record any steps when pushing a shopping cart around the store, nor does my wife's Charge 2, but the One of course logs every step. After a lot of research the only viable clip on options as stated above the Garmin Vivoki is on although it is expensive with no display. The other 2 options by Garmin is the Vivofit 2 and the Vivofit 3 both offer clips as an option. Another note on accuracy Garmin's manuals for both the 2 and the 3 state that the device should be placed in the pocket when pushing a stroller/lawn mower (I assume that this would apply to shopping carts) or when actively using the hands or arms only, device may interpret repetitive motions as steps. So much for the accuracy of wrist worn trackers.

Both the Vivofit 2 and the Vivofit 3 are available on Amazon in the $55 range on up. The accessory clips are available for $15 on up. You are able to pair both with a chest worn heart rate monitor for those of us who use them. I have been a loyal Fitbit customer for many years. 2-Ones, 1-Iconic, 1-Charge 2, 5-Zips and I have recommended Fitbit to countless people. I am also a Garmin customer but prefer Fitbit as my main tracker.  I personally will be switching to the Garmin Vivofit 3 with the accessory clip, when my current One dies. I hope that Fitbit is paying attention to this board. Garmin is attracting your current customers. They at least offering clip alternatives that are not relegated to the aftermarket. Bring back the one or a viable alternative or you will loose many faithful customers. You already have one recommending Garmin on your boards. Once again, Good Luck to all of us that love their One.

You make the assumption that I want to carry my phone everywhere I exercise.  I absolutely do not. The size and convenience of the One is why I have been a devotee for so many years.

Thanks, this was very helpful.  I must say I think there is a part of the puzzle we are not privy to since there is obviously a loyal fan base for the One, Fitbit has received plenty of feedback from its customers, yet still has no plans to bring this accurate and popular tracker back.  Right now I own a Blaze, Charge 2, Charge HR (one in black, one in plum), an Alta and an Alta HR.  Oh yes, I also own 2 Zips and 2 Ones.  I have been a Fitbit customer since the Ulta.  The One has always been, and will always be, my favorite.  When I push a shopping cart, I know my steps will count.  If I am gesturing a lot at a certain time, I know I will not receive an artificially inflated step count.  No, something doesn't make sense to me as to why Fitbit won't bring this staple back.  Either we comprise a small part of the population that is requesting its comeback or there is a reason for this decision that Fitbit is unwilling to share.  Your guess is as good as mine.

Mine was doing the same thing.  I used it until the battery was completely out and then I charged for a full day. I got a whole week out of it then.
