Though Fitbit One is a popular product, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools.
As a result, we no longer sell the One. We recommend considering the other discreet options we offer- Fitbit Zip, if you prefer a clip-based tracker or Fitbit Flex 2 if you prefer a slim, wrist-based tracker. Or, take our quiz on http://www.fitbit.com/compare to see which device meets your needs best.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope we can continue to provide you with Fitbit trackers you love and help you reach your goals.

@SPL-BR I have found the Garmin to be quite accurate for runs (in steps, calorie count and active minutes), but mixed results for other exercises (walking, elliptical, zumba) and counting the general steps in the day, especially with calorie burn estimates. Have you compared any other types of workouts? What are the totals at the end of the day? Not just steps, but calorie estimate and active minute count? I like to look at all of it! 😉

I really just use the Vivofit 3 as a step counter as I have with the One and let everything basically fall into place. I started to bore you with the details of how I began with Fitbit and my One. To answer your question and if you look at post #718 page 36, I have notice that there has been a difference in daily count by as much as 700-800 steps. (not a deal breaker for me) I typically use a Garmin Forerunner 220 GPS/HRM when I run and exercise (TRX suspension training) I also rely on it for calorie count. I have also paired the chest strap with the Vivofit 3, which seems to produce the same approximate results as my Forerunner 220. I have gone back and compared the overall calories using the Fitbit app and the Garmin Connect app (they use MyFitnessPal for tracking) and they seem to be on par with one another. I also have an Aria scale and manually enterd the information into the Garmin app and when I increased my weight is appeared that my calorie burn decreased. Overall when comparing the 2 they seem to be approximately the same in total calories burned, allowed etc. I did spend some time making sure at both devices were set up the same. I hope that this helps.
As stated previously, I have several Fitbit products (One, Ionic and Aria) intended to replace the Forerunner 220 with the Ionic for the GPS/Heart Rate function. I seems I will be moving totally to Garmin unless I can get a viable clip on to replace the One. Right now my replacement is the Vivofit 3 and I am very pleased.
When comparing I always try to keep in mind what my comparison would be like if I had the Vivofit 3 first and then got the Fitbit One if the 3 was discontinued. Would have thought that the One was inaccurate because the total step count was 700-800 more than the 3.
Was quite disappointed when I first got the Ionic and I would pick up 100 plus steps driving to work vs the One, Or when I was wearing the Ionic and was a few hundred steps short of my 10,000 step goal walked out of Costco (pushing the cart) and still had not reached it.
As always, good luck to all of us that love our One!

The Fitbit zip is junk, I don’t want it. I may stop using Fitbit altogether now and just sell my Alta .. it doesn’t regeister with certain activties. I’m very unhappy the one was better than the zip it was rechargeable the zip you have to continue to waste money on batteries.. you guys at Fitbit did us a great disservice by discontinuing the one and not the zip which is is by the most useless one ever made for its battery operated.. I don’t understand I’m so angry.

I agree that the Zip is junk, but only because it burns through the batteries so fast, is such an awkward shape, and does so little. I bought a Misfit Path, and after two months the battery is still on full. Plus it has always-on time, which no Fitbit product offers, and that is my top priority for anything I wear on my wrist. I also have a Misfit Flash that I bought more than three years ago that still works up to six months per battery change. As much as I like my One, I very much doubt it will last more than three years.
The problem with rechargeable devices, like the One, is that when the batteries wear out you have to throw them away. Everything Fitbit makes is designed to fail and need to be replaced within a year or two. I would much rather spend my money on products that are designed to last and still function ten years from now, or even longer, which means a replaceable battery.

Hello Janel,
Does the Misfit track sleep?
JEH1
(forgive me if I asked this before.)
I looked at the Polar A370
and it looks as though the sleep function is exactly the same as the One.
It is pricey though and a wrist device.

I loved my One. It was so handy to use. I named it Daisy. I 'like' the other trackers and will be buying a flex 2 to add to my fitbit family, however, Daisy had personality. Please think of bring it back and making it water proof for goonies like my husband, who washed it. I know there are a lot of folks who loved the One.

I do not want a wrist tracker (I prefer to wear an actual watch) and the Zip does not have any features besides being a glorified pedometer. I would love something with stair tracking at least.
I guess I will not longer be a FitBit customer but will be switching brands.

If only they were reading all these complaints!
Not just complaints but sincere, thoughtful requests with logical reasons why the One has been so important to so many--and why so many cannot use wrist based trackers.
Since the One is unique and has a large, very loyal following, logic would suggest bringing back the One, perhaps enhanced, to meet a market not served by any other tracker manufacturer.

I agree with you all.. My Fitbit One is into it's 6th year and still working well.. In saying that it's only a 16/7 device which keeps my Ionic honest when I'm pushing trolleys etc or not moving my arms enough.. A perfect combination.. and used in a concurrent multi mode and works for me...
I have tested my Zip which is accurate within 5 steps of the One, just in a case the One fails. The Zip gives my about 5 months battery life. The One USB charge lasts about 10 days, but I'm not using that for anything other than step recording.. Hence the longevity.
Sad we see the demise of a worthwhile tracker..

I found this thread because I've lost my Fitbit One, which I had for nearly 5 years. Bought another one from ebay, which seems to be counting far more steps than I actually do, but I'm going to try everything I can to smack it into shape!
I haven't read all these posts yet, will do over the weekend - but the recurring cry seems to be WHYYYY have they dumped Fitbit One? Wrist-worn trackers don't count all your steps unless you whack your knee with them every time you take a step, and they don't count stairs, don't show any activity on a bike - my old Fitbit One could almost make my coffee and do my ironing!
Very short-sighted strategy by Fitbit, but no doubt they're making far more money with the newer versions. (Am I allowed to say "gits" on this forum?)

@Mary438 Too right... Even my original Ultra, in it's super glued state ran for nearly 4 years. The One was purchased as insurance in case the Ultra wouldn't take any more Superglue... or... failed which it did....
That period, started me on the comparison trail of Fitbits.. again..... that's what very retired engineers tend to do... look at baselines...
Here's the image of the battered and bruised Ultra which was like this for over 2 years. It burst open in the early days when I hit the corner of a Supermarket shelf. That was the start of my Fitbit journey in 2011.
The Ultra in its charging station held together with an eleactic band to keep the contacts in touch with the charger... Them were the days... and many Fitbits later....
