No matter what  display brightness setting i can’t see the charge 3 display while outside.  What can be done to fix this.  My current display brightness is Normal,  that seems to be the brightest, but it’s totally useless while outside.  Help!!!

Hi Support, I am having the same issues.  I have tried a reset, tried adjusting the settings and I still can't see the screen when I am outside. Please could you arrange a support ticket for me too?

I'm in the same boat. I just returned from vacation where I ran, biked, kayaked and walked, and was unable to safely use my Fitbit to guide my time, distance, pace. Very frustrating since I like so much about the Fitbit app and the data I can get from it. I would also love to see a rowing or kayaking option. I tried using "weights" since that seems close to the rowing motion, and another time I tried using "workout," but since I turned it to start once i was in my kayak, I wasn't able to see and ended up accidentally choosing run. So it took me over an hour to run a mile. LOL.

I am giving up on mine, and Fitbit, not that I have any of my original Charge 3 left after having to replace the main part once and the straps 3 times.  Will be getting a Withings Pulse for my Birthday.  First time in many, many years I won't have a Fitbit, wish I'd kept my Flex 2 and bought a watch!

That's a joke!  Resetting or putting it on auto does nothing in the sun.  I don't know what planet you're living on!

So I’m thinking of jumping brands. Any suggestions? I’m leaning toward an Apple Watch. I have had too many problems with the Fitbit. In addition to the visual issues, I’m getting random changes to my step count during the day. I was pretty active today and was pleasantly surprised to see 23,000+ steps this afternoon. Thought that might have been wrong because part of my activity was a bike ride.  It has now updated to ~14,000 steps which is probably more accurate.

Same here. Have been a satisfied user for many years now, but Charge 3 has really let me down. I sport outdoors and I love that it is fit dor swinming, but what good is it if there’s no way to read the display. The annoying thing is that I know users who do not have the issue.

This should be fixable through firmware people and it is not a legacy product, so what are you waiting for? The issue is as old as the charge 3.

Please assist.

Oh man, I wish I'd seen this thread before I purchased my fitbit charge 3. I just got it yesterday and went for my first run today and was super frustrated I couldn't see the screen. It looks like auto mode and restarting doesn't help, so now this is pretty much useless for me as I bought it specifically for running - outside! Super bummed.

So you're saying in the last update that Fitbit changed the lighting? All I know is that a lot of people with Charge 3s cannot see their screens even after doing all of those things (hard resets and adjusting brightness to normal). Clearly there's a bug in the update and Fitbit is just blaming hardware. Shame on the company for creating a problem and refusing to fix what they've done wrong.

Right there with you...this all occurred after I did the update.  I have the dim screen and the streaks on the bottom of my display.

Hello. I am glad to see I am not the only one with this issue. I too have restarted and nothing is fixed. I can't see it when it's too bright somewhere. I agree with others defeats the purpose to use with tracking exercise. Please help!
