I had the exact experience this morning. Tried the hard reboot/restart advised in the trouble shooting to no avail. Was on line with customer service to be politely informed that I was outside my warranty and no other options exist to repair the device, but was offered a small discount on purchase of a new one.
This is the second Charge that has failed me "outside the warranty." Advised customer service how disappointing this was for the consumer. They advised it was out of their control because " happens due to factors beyond human control, materials that these trackers are made of also reach its limitations." With the amount spent on devices in the past couple of years and replacement bands etc...could have an Apple watch. This may be my next purchase.

Try to reboot system few times every time unconnect from cable and before turn your bluetooth off on phone. I did like that and now working. I don't know how long but turning on bluetooth only for short time to synchronise watch with app. Try maybe it will work with your watch too

I've just started having this issue, as well. After 2.5 years I think my Charge 2 is heading to the trash heap. I've reset it multiple times, it works for a week, now only for a few days, then the problem recurs. If left alone, the device depletes the battery. So what are my options? Buy another one with likely the same issue or try another brand? I've bought 4 of these devices for friends and family as gifts. I guess I should have paid the money and bought the apple watch. Lesson learned. I'll update my Amazon review in an effort to warn others.

My Charge 2 started having this issue today. Went online to find many others have experienced the same issue. It appears that if you live in Europe you have a 2 year warranty and it is likely to be replaced. In the US the warranty is one year. I received this device as a Christmas gift in 2017. I had been using another $59 device for 3 years prior and only "upgraded" to Fitbit after losing the other device. When I contacted customer support they offered me a 25% discount on a new device. What an insult. Buy another device that only lasts 18 months. No thanks. I'll be moving onto another brand.

Together with my Fitbit I bought replacement guarantee and customer's service propose for me Fitbit charge 2 replacement or 50 % off for Fitbit charge 3. It's not fair in one country is 2 years guarantee and another only 1 year for the same product. I'm happy because I've got my replacement but maybe next time will buy something with longer quarantee, because it's to expensive to buy new one every year
