For sure @Irishwings! I'm crossing my fingers. Robot Very Happy I'll try mine too, I haven't had any issues yet, but I'll keep an eye on my GPS data from now on.

Thanks a million!

Hey there @Irishwings, it's great to have a new member here! Smiley Very Happy Thanks for already troubleshooting this by uninstalling and reinstalling your app, nice way to go!

For clarification, are you talking about the Bluetooth bond between your Charge 2 and mobile device?

If so, I'd recommend that you Bluetooth bond your Charge 2 to just your mobile device so you can use features like Connected GPS and receive notifications from your phone.

Additionally, I wouldn't recommend having your Charge 2 Bluetooth bonded to both to more than two phones at the same time. Having your tracker Bluetooth bonded to two devices at the same time may cause Bluetooth interference, which I think may be the root of the issue that you are experiencing.

By any chance are you using more than two devices with your Charge 2? If you are not, I recommend the following:

1. Restart your Charge 2.
2. Reboot your mobile device.

3. Re-pair your Charge 2 to your account using the replacement setup process mentioned here

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon
  2. Tap Set Up a Device
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

4. Make sure that you have exercise mode set up on your Charge 2

Let me know if this helps! Robot Very Happy

Hi there MarreFitbit. I am also having this same issue where the connected GPS is not remaining connected while cycling, which I do almost daily. It drops the connection to my phone when I enable the Bike mode. I still get my duration which is important to me but I'm not getting my pace which is also important. I'm also not receiving my smart notifications consistently so I feel it is a bluetooth issue.

Bluetooth on my iPhone works with my Alta HR consistently and with other bluetooth devices.

I have so far done all of the steps you mentioned:
- restarted and reset my iPhone (my iOS is also up to date)

- restarted my Charge 2 (more than once) using these instructions https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

- unpaired/repaired Charge 2 to my phone using the app and bluetooth settings on my phone

- deleted the app after unpairing Charge 2 then reinstalling the app

Not really wanting to go restore the iOS, it's a pain to do but I can if I must.

Any other suggestions would be fantastic, thanks!

Hey sweetie @TSLady_Biker, thanks for stopping by and trying those steps already! Smiley Very Happy

I was wondering if by any chance you have more devices linked to your account? If so, since you've unpaired/repaired your Charge 2 I'd recommend unpair all trackers/delete from Bluetooth settings in phone and please only keep the Charge 2 and give it another try to your connected GPS activity.

Looking forward to your response!

I hope this works. I have it since January and this issue has just recently started in the last 2 weeks. I will try all this tonight.

Hey there Marre, it sadly didn't work. The connection dropped within a minute of starting my ride home 😞

Thanks again for all your help, any other ideas?

Same thing here: I manually pair (why doesn't it do it itself?) and 3 times out of 4 it will drop before the end of my bike ride to the office. Distance is almost invariably wrong too.

Where are you with this? At which point do you give up and return the device/get it swapped (assuming it fixes the problem)?

Nice gadget - lots of little irritations...

I’ve recently started having this problem too! Distance, pace and mapping is the reason I got a FitBit but if this is a common issue (and it seems to be!), I may not be buying anymore FitBit products when there are so many out there now. I’ve tried repairing my devices and my FitBit is only paired to my phone. Not sure what else to try? Does this seem to be Charge 2 specific?

My Charge 2 has recently had issues of dropping Bluetooth connection to my phone as well. I've had to restart my Bluetooth connection and resync, it will work for a few days, then drop again. I didn't have this problem before, this is just in the last few weeks.

Thanks for the info on possible interference being connected to 2 devices.   Turned Bluetooth off on old device and connection came back on new device

I have recently bought the new fitbit4 and it loses pairing to my mobile every day. I only have Fitbit Paired to my phone! Does pairing to your car interfere with pairing to the fitbit4?
