Charge 2 not pairing to phone's Bluetooth

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge2 is syncing but it’s not pairing with the BT. I have turned BT on and off on my phone, deleted and re downloaded the Fitbit app, and restarted my phone, all to no avail..... Anyone know what other options I can try?

Sorry, but no help at all!!!
The tracker is syncing fine, it just won't pair with my phone's bluetooth
and therefore can't receive text and call notifications - this is the
problem!!!

I've had same problem since last update.  The fitbit will sync with other devices but not my A8 as it did before the update. Phone also links with other devices. Factory resets have not sorted the problem.

Tried another fitbit, problem still exists.

It is time a fix was created, who do we need to make aware, surely Fitbit should take up the fight to get it sorted, risk losing custom if not resolved.

Like everyone else it is frustrating

I've had the same issues .. I've read there had been lots
of issues with all fitbits very disappointing their "fix" hasn't solved
anyone's issues.

Don't shoot the messenger for tips/tricks posted, but having the same issue.
For the strap I have found a good alternative that I'm using more than a year now : https://www.bol.com/nl/p/yono-milanees-bandje-zwart-voor-fitbit-charge-2-vervangende-rvs-armband-met...

hi all, I have just resolved this issue on my mother in laws A8 and charge 2.

the issue is caused in part by android 9 update and the firmware version of the fitbit.

to get it to sync again you will need to setup your Fitbit to work with another phone/device, (I luckily had a phone running android 8). once setup there is an update for your fitbit, install it and let it sync. next go back to the phone that wasn't working and add the fitbit again. this should now pair again and sync.

if you have any issues try additionally restarting both the phone and fitbit (to restart your fitbit plug it into the charger and hold down the button for 5 seconds until the firmware version and logo is displayed)

I did also turn off bluetooth on the android 8 phone before adding to the A8 so as to make sure it was syncing via the A8.

sadly I dont have a fitbit anymore after the silicone holder on mine broke and it came of my pocket (Fitbit one) over 3 years ago (my wifes did the same and was lost too).

I wonder if fitbit is watching and would like to replace mine for helping everyone. Nudge nudge, wink wink say no more. hint hint

well a guy can try anyways. lol

Thought I will share my experience too.

Today I found that my google pixel phone is not syncing with my Charge-2 - not sure the fact that the phone is dried out from the battery overnight has got anything to do with or not.

Then I tried several things -

  1. multiple attempts to sync
  2. cleared the app cache & storage & restarted
  3. re-installed app
  4. disconnected the device from app. And tried to pair again.
    1. But App will take through the pairing wizard, but will say unable to connect after correctly entering the 4-digit PIN from fitbit. I tried it with each of steps 1 too 3 unsuccessfully.
    2. I accessed fitbit.cim account and noticed that the device is still connected over there. This time attempts to pair from phone showed the error "fitbit.com not available"
    3. Then I installed fitbit in my Mac and tried to pair. This time, step (4.1) happened, while the similar attempt in Google Pixel was showing "fitbit.com not available" !!!
  5. I again tried pairing the phone after 5 hours. This time, it paired and synced without any issues !!!

So, I believe there was something happened at the fitbit server-side.

The same thing happened to me with my Google Pixel. It stopped syncing yesterday and I've literally tried everything from restarting my phone, my Fitbit, uninstalling the app, turn on and off Bluetooth, and even unpairing it. Now it won't pair with my Charge 2 at all. I initially thought my Charge 2 was broken since it's 4 years old and when I restarted it it jumped from 58% battery to 20%, but I also tried connecting a Charge HR and that won't work either. I know they are having problems with the iOS 13.5 update but that shouldn't affect me since I have an Android but something is definitely going on. Please Help!

Well done, you have solved the problem. Leaving Fitbit is the only solution. I am leaving too.

@Komanma Thanks for being part of our Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not getting call notifications. You can try the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Let me know how it goes.

@incrediblec Welcome to the Community.

Sorry to hear about this. Did you try the suggestions in my previous post? Which phone are you using? Which OS version is it running? Do you have enough internal space? Also have you checked the app permissions on your phone?

I look forward to your reply.

I tried everything you mentioned. I have enough space on my phone. I tried my pixel phone, I tried my laptop, I tried my iPad. Finally I tried my old iPhone that runs ios11 and got it connected. If fibit doesn't update the firmware of charge 2, I will have to abandon it.

I have the same issue, I have been trying for 3 days to sync or update the filmware to no avail. An agent just told me to mail it in for a replacement. I am about ready to give up on fitbit and have been a loyal consumer forever. Sad to see they have gone downhill so much.

Same 😞 Mine will randomly sync once a day at different times but hasn't synced for about a day and a half now. I've tried everything. I'm so bored of it not working now. Everything was working perfectly until I updated the app about a week ago!
