Had my charge2 for a week and it won’t track the deep sleep rem and the stages it to track when I’m sleeping.   What do I do to fix it.

I am so done with this effen thing. I’ve had it for almost 2 years and it
tracks my sleep occasionally. On top of that it has left a burn-type mark
on top of my skin. Is this due to radiation? I would throw it in the river
but I don’t want to pollute the river.

Same issue!
Seems they are aware there IS a problem as they ended my chat like this:

"our proper department was hard at work to get the issue sorted and we are aware of the problem."

Hi

I've tried all the suggestions provided by you guys to no avail and the insights are the same each day i.e. your tracker couldn't get a consistent heart rate etc

However last night I wore my Charge 2 on the normal wrist and my partners Alta HR on the other wrist hey presto! the Charge 2 didn't read sleep stages but the Alta HR did show them on my partners app

So what do you think now?

Got me tricked because I have concluded if you have AF (atrial fibrillation) the unit will not read a consistent heart rate when you sleep and accordingly will not give other than the ordinary graph. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

For the first time in 2-3 years since I have owned my charge 2 it is not registering sleep at all.

Certainly I've had perhaps 1 night a fortnight when it doesn't register stages, but, today it is not calibrating any sleep at all, nor showing any signs of trying to.

Can you help

Hi, I've been in touch with Fitbit twice, have reset my Charge2 twice, and it is still unresolved - the problem has come back twice & I've only had the Charge" for 3 weeks. I am waiting for them to email me about it as it has been escalated. Don't know if this is helpful?

As my Charge2 has recorded sleep stages on many nights but not all, I don't think the wristband/contact is the issue, although that was one of the first questions asked when I contact Fitbit. It sounds like a lot of people are having intermittent readings.

I have given up.  I have tried everything recommended.  The sleep stages are not recorded.  No help from Fitbit. Looking for a better alternative

I have been breaking my head over this issue for the last couple of weeks and finally was able to resolve it for myself. To all that encounter this problem I hope my use case helps resolve for you too.

I have tried most options listed on this forum (Resets , Clear app cache, reinstalls , add as replacement device...) and none of it worked.

However I did two things last week

1)  I had someone one else ( in my case my cousin ) wear it for a couple nights. It gave the detailed stages the very next day and I had him wear one more night to make sure it was consistent. I am not sure how important it is to have someone else wear it, but I think it may have helped either reset or or break an established data pattern. So may be worthwhile to give it a shot.

2) While it did not work the next day I wore it and still gave me basic details, I tried changing the trackers position on the wrist. and coincidentally wore it "one hole looser" and I got the detailed stages for myself from the next day onwards and believe it or not its been consistent over the last three days.  So my solution is "Just wear it one hole freer" even if it makes  you feel its not actually touching your wrist like you would want to .

You can try just 2) and see if it helps or try both 1 and 2. Hope it works!

Thanks!

PK

Hey, all!

I, too, have been having trouble getting my FitBit to monitor my sleep stages accurately. I just started using it last week and I had two days where it worked, two days where it didn't, and then last night it did. Don't know if what I changed will continue to work, but my fingers are crossed.

1- Before sleep, I reset it. This may or may not be the issue. I think, however, it's the second trick I employed, see #2.

2- I tend to sleep with my left arm (non-dominant) crooked up close to my head and on top of a stack of pillows. Not only does this place my wrist and FitBit well over my body vertically, it does so horizontally. So I consciously tried to keep my arm, wrist, and FitBit at my side stretched out. This means it's below my heart vertically. And it recorded my sleep cycles when I synced it this morning. Success! (I hope!)

Again, I don't know if this will work going forward, but it's worth a try to all those who are so frustrated to see if it changes.

Good luck!

Done all those things and mine has never recorded REM, DEEP SLEEP etc in 14 months. I have concluded it only gives the basic sleep details if one has atrial fibrillation. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Good morning,

My 2 month old Charge 2 recorded sleep stages just fine until I had to install the latest update, now NO SLEEP STAGES!  I wish I could go back to the former version when everything worked correctly.  I need the sleep stages because I have sleep apnea and need the info for my doctor.  Please advise.

Hi there, I had a long email correspondence with FitBit, and they finally said that my Galaxy J6 Samsung wasn't consistently compatible with FitBit. So I sometimes get the sleep stages but often get the basic sleep information. They say they are trying to become compatible with more Androids....

I gave up on my Charge 2 because I could not get sleep stages with my iPhone 6s. IOS does not guarantee sleep stages.

Do you think it's a Mac problem? I only use Apple stuff.

I think that it's a FITBIT software problem. I have a low pulse rate. No atrial fibrillation.

Is your blood pressure on the low side, too? That's the case with me. It
also sometimes blanks out when I'm working out, but that could be a
moisture issue. Perhaps it's the same with sleep; I sleep hot.
