Charge 2 not tracking steps correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been watching a movie & it tracked me walking 980 steps... I havent even gotten up. The "help" tab says to go into the exercise tab & modify my activity to say "driving" for the time frame I was watching the movie & the steps would update to remove them... but its NOT working!! This is frustrating to purchase this product & not have it track correctly. Also, even IF the work around of tricking it to think I was "driving" worked.. it would still cause alot more work to have to go & update ur profile. Why isnt this thing working ?!

@DexterG It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 counting steps while watching a movie. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen when driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.

Let me know how it goes.
