My Charge 2 received in June of 2016 still lasts 6 days being used by my neice.
Lithium polymer batteries are susceptible to damage caused by excessive heat and improper or lack of charging.
Letting the battery get below 30% charge is a big no-no and the main cause of failure.
Charging the battery up to 100% or leaving it on its charger to long may also be bad for battery life. However with the charge controller that the Fitbit uses this is not much of a concern and provides a slow charge.
Yes other companies provide a repair service, charging about 80% of the cost of a new unit to repair your existing unit. Fitbit chargers the same 80% and the users received a brand new unit. This is way better than the warranty with my cell phone.

I've had my Fitbit Charge 2 for about 15 months..The battery only stays charged fir less than a day..I cant afford to buy a new one every 15 months and it really has improved my workout lifestyle. Is there anywhere I can send for replacement battery. ?

Hi The same just happened to me, last time the watch was replaced but this time they refused to replace as they said the warranty started from my first purchase and not from the new watch being delivered! I ask them if they think this is reasonable and they agreed it wasn't but the computer said no to a replacement! I wont be using the 25% off a new one as their watches dont seem to last more than a year or 2!

@Jamboy I have problem agreeing with the is this not fair.
Legally it is and considering this is the wording for just about every warranty written for any product.
The exemption being a lifetime warranty, but is this your lifetime or the companies lifetime. What happens if the company is sold?

Fitbit Charge 2 just out of warranty. Battery has died. no interest in 25% off a product that will let me down. Looking elsewhere. Do not buy this crap.

Try fill owing the restart procedure found in the user manual or the online help guides.
Simply holding in the button will only disable notifications.
The tracker first needs to be plugged in and charging.

Good morning!
(Fitbit battery drain, depletion, bad battery, no worky battery)
It is great to be in the fitbit community! I enjoy all that the fitbit 2 has to offer. I had one fitbit 2 replaced under warranty. This is a fine piece of equipment.
Then Fitbit did a firmware update around one month ago. Immediately..... not a few days later,,,,, immediately the battery drained THAT day. No cleaning of contacts was going to revive this battery.
Please tell me that the firmware update had nothing to do with my fitbit 2 battery going from 4 days to 9 hours. Thank you for your immediate feedback.
Your answer will determine if I buy another fitbit product again.

BGeier,
I am of the firm belief that the Firmware update of over a month ago is your problem. Period. My is doing the exact same thing...…. Fitbit sees what Apple can do with an old phone battery and their software updates. They say YES!!!

3 weeks? Let's talk after you have had it over a year and they do a firmware update..... then your battery starts draining under a day. It is not natural for battery death.

You can buy a replacement battery for Fitbit Charge 2, online. There's also a Youtube video showing how to replace it. Don't do this if your watch is still under warranty though. But if the warranty is finished, take about 5 minutes to replace the battery yourself, if you are a little bit handy with screwdriver and soldering iron. Saves you from throwing away a perfectly good Fitbit!
