Charge 2 screen stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

After less than 10 months of use, my Charge 2 screen has gone blank.  Still tracks steps/HR/sleep.  Have tried restarting to no avail.  I did attempt to contact Customer Service via the chat feature, but have given up waiting after a couple hours of nothing.

Mine is not even syncing, just plain dead. I tried to explain to the support team that I don't believe it's a charging issue and they keep telling me how to troubleshoot for charging issues. It is black, the charging won't help no matter what!!! This is my 3rd Fitbit in 4 years. So frustrating. I really liked this charge 2, for at least the past 18 months anyway. I guess it's time to find something else that hopefully lasts longer than 1 or 2 years! Crap.

Mine just did this a couple of days ago. Working fine, then woke up and no display. Battery is fine, it seems to be active--got the vibration when plugging in to the charger and when resetting. It's right at about 2 years old.

It would appear the Fitbit charge 2 is designed to give up after 2 years.
I’m now using a Mi Band 3. It was a fraction of the cost of the Fitbit and does almost the same job.

Shame about the Fitbit 2 because it did everything I wanted, but it’s just not acceptable to have to replace it every 2 years.

I'm having the same issue. My Fit bit stopped working correctly this am. It is still synced to my phone and it is working, but the back light display is gone. I did try to reset it, but when I checked the firmware, it is updated.

It will last a few weeks like that and then die completely. Fitbit won’t do anything for you except 25% off a new one.  I found one online and bought just because I have so many straps that won’t work in the 3 version. Best of luck.

Has a fix been found?  Watch is less than two years old.  I've done all the suggestions and nothing has worked.

Yes -- replace it. I went with the Versa. So far, so good. Fitbit
offered a 50% discount on a new watch, or a replacement Charge 2.

They are actually replacing them?  Not just offering the 25% off on a new one?

No fix. They ended up giving me a discount on a new one. It is the last
fitbit I will own. My previous model quit working after 2 years also.

Now it's 25% off? Was 50% a year ago. That's their version of a replacement
and/or fix -- buying a new product.

My charge 2 screen failed. I tried restarting it but after that it stopped recording steps.  Please advise!  I need this for my insurance benefits at my job.

Mine just did the same thing today. It is synching and counting steps, etc. Just no display... which sucks bc I use my watch day and track my workouts and heart rate daily....

Going to try troubleshooting tips first. Tried charging and resetting. now going to let it die and see if that works.

After numerous chats with fitbit about this issue, I found the problem
unable to be corrected. I now have a charge 3. Fitbit gave me a discount
towards it, but there seems to be a 2 year life expectancy on these
products. This is my 4th. I don't plan to buy anymore when this one fails.
Hope this helps you.

I am not sure about the Charge being able to keep track of things as I haven not worn it, and online I am getting steps !!  I Guess I'll let the charge run out of battery life and then recharge it and see what happens.  Very disappointed in this .

My screen went black literally 2 years and 10 days after I bought it. It's very disappointing because I don't consider a product that costs more than $100 as a throw-away and replace item. Guess I'll buy a cheap one from Amazon

I don’t blame you either. I felt the same when my charge 2 failed. I bought a MI Band 3. It doesn’t do quite the same as the Fitbit but it does what I need for a fraction of the cost. They’re retailing on Amazon for about £20. The MI Band 4 is under £35. I might look at those in a bit more detail.

My screen gone blank too after two years, otherwise seems to be working fine/syncs with iPhone etc. I haven't seen any thread on this subject where the screen has come back, so can only assume this is a problem with how the watch is made. Why can't fitbit make more durable products!!! the planet cannot afford such waste and I will not be buying another one.
