I have scoured the forums for help and I have not found something that fits my scenario - help appreciated 🙂
Prior to this, I have successfully reset my Charge 3 when there were other issues (screen stuck, constant vibrating, etc).
6/1/19 - went swimming beginning 9:30am. I have never swam with the Charge 3, although I know it is water proof. About an hour into swimming, the screen went black. A solid red light was on on the back of the Charge 3. I didn't have my charger with me so I was unable to attempt to reset. Charge 3 never came back on. (phone app says last sync was 6/2/19 at 9:03am)
6/2/19 - had my charger available at 9:30pm. Plugged in the Charge 3 - it vibrated, pressed the button for 8 seconds - a line appeared on the screen which filled during the 8 seconds. Took the Charge 3 off of the charger, line remained on the display screen and a green light appeared on the back. Nothing else happened. Screen went dark, plugged the Charge 3 back onto the charger, no vibration this time. Held the power button for 15 seconds, Charge 3 completely unresponsive, no vibrations, no lights, nothing. Allowed the Charge 3 to charge all night (phone app says the charge is full, but that may also be from the last sync on 6/2/19).
6/3/19 - Charge 3 is completely dead. Plugging into the charger does nothing. Phone app cannot sync and basically says it's not connected to the Charge 3.
I've had this since November 2018 and I love it - but I'm super disappointed that the first time I take it swimming, it completely dies on me...
Please help 🙂

UPDATE (11:07am - 6/3/19): About 10am this morning the Charge 3 spazzed out - it blinked the battery sign at me, vibrated, showed the watch face with yesterdays date, and then showed 3% when I plugged it in. It is now, however, back to completely dead.

I wish I could help, but this is why I came on the forum myself. I have sent an email to support-fingers crossed for both of us.

I chatted with Howard- he walked me through some steps and when it still didn't work, he checked and I am eligible for a replacement- Yippee!!

Oh good! I'm guessing that's where I'll end up.

I am having the same issues and the proposed restart process has not solved the issue. Was your fitbit ever sorted?

Have the same problem. I've used my Charge 3 in the pool for the last few months without any problems until last night. Mine is doing the same thing as yours.
The battery was at 73% went it starting acting up last night. I plugged it in last night and the screen went blank. This morning I tried to reset it several times. I can't get past the smiley face.
I haven't found anything in the Help pages that's worked.

Same issues here. Not charging. Can’t restart. I can’t even find a place to get tech help. Where did you reach out to? Thanks

My Fitbit screen is turning black. Today there is an error on calories, says I have over 4000 calories at 10.5 steps. Big error! I have had my charge 3 for about 1.5 years. So very disappointing!😳

Completely the same story. Yesterday I washed dishes with my fitbit on. It went blank, every once in a while it would viberate but no screen. Plugged it in to charger last night, it smiled so I left it overnight. Took it off and it showed a RED light on back, blank/black screen. DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. I've tried everything and love it as well. So totally bummed.

Hi there, I seem to be having exactly the same issue with my Charge 3! Did you manage to get this resolved as I could not find any replies to your message? Many thanks.
