Has the screen dimmed after an update or something? It used to be bad, now it's almost useless.
Normal is ok if I cup my hand over it.
Auto works, but is still really dim in bright light.
Dim is non-existent.
It didn't used to be like this. Been horrible for a few weeks.

Complain to Fitbit - they replaced my tracker (I had to keep my bands) and now it's fine, just like my other Fitbits have been.

Moderator must know this is a real issue - I would like to know if I buy a new Charge 3 is it corrected in the latest releases?

just got my fit bit for Xmas. Was working great until I noticed earlier today it’s very dim . Tried the resetting like you said but didn’t work. Still dim.

I had similar problem, couldn't see the time etc. when I was outside. Fitbit sent me a new Charge 3. Worked well for a few months and then it also had the same problem. I gave up and only depend on it when inside. It's not like me to badmouth a company/product, but now I tell people not to buy Fitbit and and get a different brand if planning to use outside

Same issue here. Display is dim, impossible to see the time at day time. And it is in bright mode, in dim mode it is completely black.
I called to Support (30 min waiting to be connected), and they only offering me 25% discount to purchase another Charge 3. Device is about 2 month as warrant expired, a bit longer that a year for me - and the only solution I've got to spend another $100 for old model. Seems like FitBit Support does not care to offer me any other options, repair, replacement, etc.
So bad. I'm long time loyal customer. I had Charge HR, then Charge 2, now Charge 3, but buying new device once a year is not an option.
Seems like there is a time for me to look around for another platform with devices staying longer alive - and with better support and customer service.

Tried this and didn't work. Appears to be a consistent problem with many users.

That was the first thing I tried and it didn’t work. The only way I can see things half the time is by opening the app on my phone.
I’ve had the original charge hr, the charge 2 and the charge 3 and had one problem or another with each. Doubt I’ll try the charge 4

What did you do to increase the brightness of your Fitbit?

I tried the restart and changing clock wall as suggested in earlier posts and no change - still can barely see it. I'll be looking for another device soon that is not a part of fitbit.

Changing settings was the first thing I did, then restarted, changed clock wall, etc.... the Charge 3 is defective and Fitbit is fully aware of the problem but hasn't fixed it. I'm better than average with technology and frequently help family, co-workers, and friends with their phone/computer/app issues. This is definitely a faulty product problem! I was lucky, mine is still under warranty so they are sending a new one. I hope the new one is better as this one lasted about 6 months.

I have the same problem and the best answer given here did not help at all. After the rest the display is still dim. I can't see it all if outdoors and just barely when indoors. Looks like I'll be going back to a regular watch.
