Charge 3 Display - Dimmer Now??

Has the screen dimmed after an update or something? It used to be bad, now it's almost useless.

Normal is ok if I cup my hand over it.

Auto works, but is still really dim in bright light.

Dim is non-existent.

It didn't used to be like this. Been horrible for a few weeks.

Mine was only 6 months old so I took it back to the shop and they exchanged it for an Inspire HR. Works great.

The solution offered only works if you can see something on your Charge 3. I can see absolutely nothing, so how do I know if I'm in settings and how to navigate through? This is junk and I will not recommend a fitbit to anyone,

No worries either way.  I'm hoping the solution that worked for me might help someone else. 🤷‍:female_sign:

I can set it to dim, auto etc. No matter what it's impossible to read in sunlight. I still cant believe FitBit didnt bite the bullet and recall these things..so many unhappy customers who are telling people to stay away from this brand.

Agree with not reading it outside. Unless you are in shade and even then it’s still hard to read. Thanks for reply.

This worked for me I went to settings and mine was set to dim, it was that simple no reset etc. needed.

Frustrating.   Even after a replacement sent out and I gave it awhile with reset still dim outside where can't read.  Many folks have had this issue so seems like no beta testing in different scenarios.  Also, went to get the interval timer activated which is a cool feature since it has a dual function, but noticed the rest and move/active times were reversed from what I programmed via my Android Samsung A50 on the Fitbit Charge 3.    They w

You cannot read them in sunlight . Despite that I am not having any issues now. Mine was fixed by going into settings on my watch face

I tried this method. It did not work for me. After I uploaded the new update .  On my screen the only then you can really make out now is the first digit of the time. It works beautifully until I uploaded. Any suggestions I absolutely love my Fitbit and I've only had it since last July. It is a charge 3

Mine started getting duller by the day.  I just did the new update and now my screen is completely black!  Tried the hard reboot several times with no luck.  It is syncing and doing steps--but is worthless with reading anything on the display.  Online chat was useless

Thank you for responding. I told the directions to go to the setting on the
actual Fitbit screen face and everything came back. That was advice given
to me by someone in the community a few minutes ago.

My screen is black so I cannot change any settings on the actual Fitbit

My screen was in sleep mode. Tried to swipe to settings as someone recommended to change brightness but that was not an option. I kept swiping on the watch and came to screen sleep or awake. I clicked the light bulb and woke my screen. All is fixed now and is bright as the day I bought it.

They offered me a coupon on a new one, since I’m past the warranty. Not great service, and it still seems like they bricked it in a recent update.

Guess I’ll go back to wearing a watch and the Fitbit will just be for sleep and workouts.

This is my experience, too. I've done several restarts, and charged it via PC since the upgrade, but no improvement. In fact, every day it gets worse. More and more of the screen is getting dimmer, like a slow wipe from top to bottom.
