When I swipe over to Weather on my Charge 3, it never works and says to try syncing with my phone... That doesn't work either. Any insights?

I've had my Charge 3, since late October but since the firmware update in early December, have been unable to obtain weather on the Fitbit but also none of the stats that are synced back from the app (sleep, calorie intake, water intake, progress toward the 250 steps per hour goal, weight goal progress, number of days attaining exercise goal etc ).
I tried checking location settings as noted - it wasn't that. I ensured that the app had all permissions enabled, it did.
I tried performing a reset of the Charge 3 (Settings -> About -> Reset User Data), deleting the Charge 3 from the app and re-running the setup. It wasn't that!
I tried clearing the cache (I'm on Android 7), not that either!
In the end, I removed the Charge 3 from the app, deleted all app data, removed the app, performed another reset of the Charge 3 and then reinstalled the app, re-added my Charge 3, configured the few settings that are not backed up on the Fitbit cloud (silent alarms) and bingo, it all came back to life - I have weather on my Charge 3 and also all the other missing data such as sleep, water, calorie intake etc. The whole experience now actually seems a lot smoother.
So, as far as I can tell, this may not be an issue with the Charge 3 itself but possibly something with the App that occurred around the time of the early December firmware update - which took around 80 minutes to install!!
Hope this is useful to someone... I love my Charge 3!

So I tried syncing, after enabling location on My phone and fit bit app.
Weather still does not link and now sleep icon on device says "sleep not tracked" but it's tracked on the app...

Even free the most current updates, the weather does not update without having the app open and doing s manual sync. Even the, it does not work every time. I purchased my Charge 3 at the end of November 2028, so I cannot attest to it working prior to that. I also miss other notifications, which will show up if I turn my iPhone off and back on. Very disappointed in Fitbit!!

This is not a solution. Followed these steps. Still no weather on charge 3.

I understand! I love(d) my Charge 2, so I got the Charge 3 without question. Big mistake! Not only the weather glitch, but I couldn’t get the timer to stop when I was done with my exercise! Really freaked out! Charge 3 is in my drawer now, never to see the light of day.😡

I have done everything suggested but my fitbit charge 3 still is not giving me the weather. It was working fine 6 hours ago. It is synced to my phone and location is turned on.

From the clock face swipe left 3 times and you will see the "Weather" and the "Settings" icons. Click on the weather icon and you will see the weather for your current city, swipe left for the weather in the other two cities if you have configured on the mobile app

Purchased mine yesterday. Love it. Have gone out of my mind trying to sync weather (which is an app I'd use). have been thru countless threads and verified fixes. All my settings are correct. Honestly, I rather be able to just delete weather app, than pull op frozen or out of date data.

Why do I need to keep repeating the steps every week or so for the weather?

Hi Dave, that is useful, however, I believe it is poor advertising on the part of Fitbit, if true. The purpose I purchased the device was that it offered weather. Further, the customer service reps I spoke to did not mention this. Instead, the continued to mislead by indicating that I must turn on all tracking in the background and access for it to work. Finally, ending with, "they were aware of the issue and working on it and I should post a comment on the community, as that is where they look for issues."
I see this as a total misrepresentation of the products capabilities in order to beat the market and sell a product - they should be offering free upgrades to whatever product provides these features.
Below is a quote from their shop site (https://www.fitbit.com/shop/charge3) features page.

It’s a bracelet, and you cannot get a refund. Not good. I will never buy another FitBit product.
