Charge 3 dim screen and touch screen doesn't work

Hi, I have had my fitbit Charge 3 for over a year with no issues.  I bought it to record my swimming laps more than anything. Due to covid, pools closed and I haven't been swimming in 8 months. I take fitbit off everything I shower, so it does not get wet anymore. For a while it quit syncing. Then I stopped getting my weekly reports. I checked my settings and all were still on. I reset the app and was able to update it daily.. Now, suddenly, my screen is so dim I can hardly see it and it does not respond to tapping. I no longer receive email notifications either. I have charged it overnight as well as followed all the resets in the forum, and still nothing. Anyone have any solutions? I really enjoyed wearing it and seeing my progress, but it is failing. I am frustrated because screen was visible one minute and then when I went to set time for my walk I could not see it. I am very frustrated and don't want to invest in another one so soon. Please advise!

Dim screen and not responding to tapping sound like you are in 'Sleep Mode'.  Hold in side button a few seconds; below DND, see 'Sleep' - you want it dim with a line through it; if not, tap to toggle out of sleep mode;  also check below Sleep for 'Screen Wake' - you want it bright; if not tap to toggle.

You can also find both these settings under 'Settings'.

Yes, THANK YOU! I followed your instructions, but only problem is I can't
seem to get off that DND, Sleep & wake screen

Just press the side button again - a short press rather than the longer hold, or maybe either works.
