Charge 3 display corrupted

There are two lines across the top of the screen on my Fitbit Charge 3.  I rebooted the device, but that didn't fix the problem.  I've only had it for two weeks.

A warm welcome to the Community @tshelto8.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this display issue by yourself. Please perform a long restart by doing the following:

  • Plug the device into the charging cable.
  • While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  • Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen.
  • Remove the device from the charging cable.
  • Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  • The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

Let me know the outcome. Man Happy

I have a similar issue. I have only had the device since December/January and just yesterday the screen stopped displaying properly. I have tried all of the reboot suggestions and the suggested solution displayed here.

How do I get a replacement device?

Best Answer

Hi, I am having issues with several blank lines going across the top of my Charge 3 display. I tried the restart that you suggested several times and it still the same. I have only had it since January, and it is very disappointing since it cost quite a bit. Please, advise. Thank you, in advance.

I also have the two or three blank lines across the top of the display. I tried the fix and it didn't resolve itself. The smiley face comes up before I get to the finish of the 15 seconds. Can I do anything else?

The solution didn't work for me...I tried twice. I've seen several people who have received replacements, how do I get a replacement as well?

Thanks,

My device was relatively new so I got a replacement.

I purchased it last Fall (10/5) so it isn't even a year old.

A replacement is on the way. The online chat agent was very helpful. We tried the fix once more with the same result, and since it was still under warranty a replacement will be coming.

This reset suggestion didn’t work for me. Stripes are still there and starting about an hour ago, as I posted in another thread, the screen is flashing from the main screen to the wake and vibrating each time it flashes. I took it off because the vibrating was so annoying and now the screen is black and the fitbit won’t wake up at all.

How frustrating! I suggest you get on the help chat and get someone to work through this with you. I had a screen problem a few weeks ago where it wouldn't respond to taps or swipes...it was frozen. A reboot fixed it, maybe you could try that.

But the fix for the lines didn't work for me at all. A help agent worked with me and determined it needed to be replaced and since it was still in warranty, there is no cost to me.

Good Luck

Hi there, I got the same problem a few weeks ago (lines on the display), and it's gotten to the point where the display is pretty much unreadable. I've tried the smiley face reset multiple times, but I can't seem to get the blank screen reset. I got this Fitbit as a gift around Christmas time (probably slightly before), but I don't have a receipt. Help please!

The suggested fix did work and I reposted the way it works and others found it helped. I was then told it was taken down as it was based on what had already been posted onsite.

No luck with the multiple tries to fix the non-display. I am a fitbit fan. Many people have "display" problems. I am wondering if this is an admitted software/hardware/quality issue by fitbit has fitbit corrected before I push for a replacement. We purchased in February 2019, about the time this and other chats started. Thanks.
