Charge 3 display corrupted

My Charge 3, which is about 6 weeks old has developed a dead horizontal line about 1/5 of the way down the screen. It's like a dead pixel, but extends right across the screen and always remains black. It's not too much of a problem; info is still easy to read, but it's clearly a fault and may get worse. I intend to return it for an exchange, but am posting to let other users know about this issue.

That's a large sum of money to have spent on a device with recurrent issues.. The question is - which device to get? I don't see the point in downgrading to the Inspire, I don't like the watch-face devices like Versa & Ionic (neither do I like the price tag).. So the Charge has been my go-to.. Now do we take the risk going Charge 4 & hope the newer device has resolved this issue or just move away from Fitbit altogether e.g. Samsung fitness trackers etc. I would hate to spend all this money on the Charge 4 just to have the same issues again..

Wow , you’ve got more patience than most !!

Shame on Fitbit for not fixing the problems on the device, & replacing every defective unit !!

The problem was I got it as a gift from my mother in law and I couldn't very well let her see me without it so I just kept complaining and getting new ones.  When this one goes I'm done. And its already on it's way out. Have at least 4 lines now.

I agree with you on the versa or ionic.  I'm hoping they've resolved the issues with the charge 4. That may be the next one I try. I've never had this many problems with a Fitbit and I've had one for years.

I confess I'm not sure I'd go back to the charge.

That is not very encouraging.  I hope I have better luck.

Unless it's less than a year old, nope it will keep failing till it shows a blackout screen !! Mine kept counting functions, but you could only view in the app, so.....

Yes I agree completely, however Fitbit wont warranty your replacement past the original 1 year date from your original purchase !!

It’s a risk which we shouldn’t really be worrying about. For the amount of
money these watches cost they should all work as they are suppose to, good
luck with whatever you decide to go with.

go to another brand thats what I'm doing and a lot of my friends too, fitbit 3 cost too much money to not even last a year and all you get is a discount when it is a manufacturer default fitbit don't stand by the product......

I am also having this problem. It started when it was 6 months old with one line then a couple of months later another appeared. I could still see the display so wasn’t too bothered about this. Today the whole of the display has turned a light grey colour making it very difficult to read. I have tried the restart which hasn’t helped.

I see a chat with customer service in your future. If it's in warranty,
they will replace it. Good luck

You will have to contact customer service. If your unit is still in
warranty, they will replace it. Whether you get a new or refurbished unit
may depend on how old it is. Good luck.
