Okay people. I encountered the same issue. This is what helped me. If there's an update for your fitbit app, update it. If not continue these directions:

1. Connect charger to fitbit

2. Hold the reset button for at least 8-10 seconds.

3. Wait for the smiley face and your done!

I have the same problem with my sons charge 3. He got it as a Christmas gift, and just yesterday I was resetting it to try and get the time re-synced and it disnt want to turn back on. It vibrates as if it's on but nothing on the screen. Very frustrating!!!

I had to try it a few times. What worked for me is that I let the battery die then plugged it in and press the sides and it worked.

Place the charger on the fitbit 3. Hold down the reset button for 8-15 seconds. Wait for the smiley face. That what fixed mine.

Hello there @LeeT357 and @Gilcole! Thanks so much for sharing what has worked for you. Glad to hear you're back on track!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Lexi-B! As @SunsetRunner, I'm also happy to hear you're back on track! Robot wink

Hi @CR7fan, it's nice to have a new member around! Since your son's Charge 3 is still vibrating, I'd recommend trying to change the clock face to a different one to see if this brings the display back.

Let me know the outcome!

Thanks Daniel,

Tried various combinations of holding down the button for different lengths of time, both with the fitbit on and off the charger; as well as waiting, recharging, etc. Nothing worked. Then I tried your suggestion of changing the clock face in the phone application and as soon as the download completed I once again had a working display.

Thanks again for posting, would have never thought to try that as a fix on my own.

I had the exact same problem with my Charge 3 FitBit. I've had it for 4 months though, so there shouldn't have been any issues. Anyways, my dad reached out to FitBit and explained the issue. They replied with this:

1.) As a first I suggest restart your daughter's Fitbit.
Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
2.) If that doesn't work please change the clock face in the Charge 3

At first I had no luck with solution 1. But after many attempts, I finally figured it out. I didn't know that the charger for the watch conveniently had a gap on the side, where one of the clamps are. So, plug in your Charge 3, hold down the button (in the gap on the side) for approximately 8 seconds, and the smiley face should pop up on the screen. Hope this helps 😄

I have the same problem. The last time it was blank for a week then just came back on. It went dark while I was charging it. Just got it for Christmas too. It’s dark again now and has been for a few days. Will try the restart when I get home from work but not impressed with this bug lots of people are experiencing based on this page especially at the price my husband paid for this. Will not be recommending or replacing with another Fitbit product. Very disappointed.

I've read through the string and it sounds like a lot of us are having the same problem with the Fitbit Charge3 screen going blank for no apparent reason.  Fitbit....what are you doing about this?  Your products aren't cheap but they seem to have problems out of the box.  Please let the community know what you all are doing about researching and solving the issue.

I agree, a month old and the product is effectively dead every few days

None of the standard reset suggestions work, but completely uninstalling the phone app and reinstalling, then changing the face worked for me this time, so its a case of buggy software.

Also the app update with unnamed "bug fixes" stopped he device syncing at all for me, Please ask your developers to document their code, "bug fixes" means "we dont care enough to tell you"

I have had that issue many times - randomly

You have to plug it in and hold down the side button for 20 seconds until the smile shows up
