Bought my Fitbit Charge 3 on Saturday. Tracked my sleep first night, hasn’t since for last 3 nights. Have to keep putting it on charger and restarting. Few hours later it appears on watch and phone. Can’t keep doing this! Any ideas?

I am extremely unhappy with my charge 3. I started my first fast thursday. I bought the fitbit exclusively to track my sleep and use as data for my fast. First night it work perfectly. The past 3, horrible. Absolutely worthless. We need a manual button we press for sleep and wake

I am very frustrated with the same issue.  It seems that every time I charge my Charge 3 it stops tracking my sleep and says "Sleep not tracked".  Now my tracker is not syncing at all.  Very unhappy with FitBit at this point.  I have went to the website and found no answers.  I Googled and found your question so I am hoping to see if you get an answer here.

Unfortunately, I’m in the same boat as you, very unhappy with my charger 3

I did a combination of things as you probably have. I did the manual reboot, deleted it off my Fitbit account and unsync it from my phone. Then reloaded and re-sync which took a really long time and was frustrating for how long it took. Once that was done I manually set it sleep mode and after that it started reading from that point on. Not sure if this will help you but this is what I did.

Thank you for trying to help me. The Whole situation is very frustrating. I tried ra o Inf it and then reinstalling but it keeps telling me that Fitbit should be charging etc then Saying that phone c Ant find Fitbit. I had to leave and couldn’t continue.
In addition to not tracking sleep it also doesn’t post weather or t to anymore-it did in the beginning-saying that it isn’t synced with phone,

I wNt to return it but threw away box not anticipating any problems since the prior one worked well- albeit not as sophisticated- but I lost it,

I will try again when I go home

Thanks-again!

I was very frustrated when I was trying to reload everything it kept saying it could not sync. All I can suggest is do it when you have a lot of spare time. (Lol who has that) I took C3 and my phone and started the process, then walked away. It failed multiple times. I knew I was starting to get on the right path when it re-synced with Bluetooth. It took a lot of time and frustrated the cracker jacks out of me. I also considered rtn the C3 but I also threw away the box I have had many of Fitbit’s products and never had problems like this before. If you can stand it just be patient and try try try again. I don’t know if this helps.

Restarting with Laptop, resetting. Nothing works. The sleep monitor is horrible. Unfortunately thats why I bought it. I wish I could return it. My sleep patterns change. It never tracks my sleep when I sleep in the day

I have had some issues with my Fitbit charge 3 losing it’s pairing with my IPhone multiple times per day and not tracking my sleep or syncing with the app after my pairing has gone awry. After trying many things, I have found that going to the app settings for my charge 3 under Account, there is an option “sync now”. After doing this, my Fitbit device now shows the hours slept and when I manually add more sleep time, it shows up on my Fitbit. Crossing my fingers this will help to get my device syncing properly. I also turned off all Day sync. I’m thinking that may have started this trend of losing the pairing. The problem with losing the pairing is all the remedies cause you to lose some activity and your sleep stats seem to always be lost.

I am starting to think it's Android and not Fitbit at all. I did a factory reboot on my phone and gogfigure my  Fitbit worked fine. Google then while adding all these applications back added one called Carrier services, which is a new Android app that's designed to help communication. As soon as it was installed I lost all Bluetooth connection again. I sent that phone back assuming it was software issues I'm currently on my old phone which does not have Carrier services and it's working fine.  Coincidence?????

Can anyone remind me how to do the long reset

No resolution other than to return my Fitbit to Amazon in exchange for another.
Lost 3 weeks of data. Was not very happy about that.
The customer service rep at Fitbit told me my device had a "bug." Believe me, we tried everything to retrieve the data! I finally accepted the fact that it was lost and moved on to a replacement.
I would suggest contacting the seller and checking on the warranty you purchased (if you did).
All the best and keep moving!

Attach Fitbit to charger. Then hold down on-off button until you get a full :-).

I am having the same problem as posted by Jopw. My fitbit Charger 3 tracked my sleep the first night and hasn't since. I have done the troubleshooting and nothing. It tracked my sleep the first night and nothing since.

Try the hard reset. Worked for me. Attach Fitbit to charger. Hold down on-off button until you feel the unit "beep" and get a smiley face. Takes 15-30 sec.

I hope this helps, I called FitBit for help and syncing seemed to be the issue.  Thought I would share FitBit customer care email below.  Debbie

As mentioned during our conversation, since you're experiencing issues related to your sleep data as your Charge 3 is experiencing syncing issues, please see our solutions below:

  1. Go to your Fitbit App and turn off "All-Day Sync"
  2. Log out of your Fitbit App
  3. Restart your Charge 3 once again, three times in a row
  4. Turn off the Bluetooth
  5. Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  6. Turn on the Bluetooth
  7. Log back into your Fitbit App
  8. Turn on "All-Day Sync"

Please note that syncing may take up to 30 minutes.

Just in case the syncing issue persists and your sleep data is not being shown as it should, please perform a long restart.

To restart Charge 3 using the 15-second method:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

In the meantime, please feel free to let me know if you happen to have any questions or if additional assistance is needed. We're here for you!

Sincerely,

Andres G. M. and the Fitbit Team

depending upon where you purchased, you still may be able to return your Fitbit. Just make new purchase and return defective device in "new"box!  😄

My sleep isn’t being tracked consistently either. I’ve tried to suggestions I’ve seen & still, no luck.
