Charge 3 step count differs from weekly report

Why does my step count differ from the count on my watch, and tablet that my weekly report? It's always less on the weekly report?

@MrBoston Welcome to the Fitbit Community!

 

Let me help you with your weekly report not showing the same steps as your Charge 3. The report is done with the data uploaded to your account. If you don't sync periodically then some data may be missing at the time the report is done. I suggest you sync your tracker at least once a day specially on Sunday evening and Monday morning to have all data uploaded to your account.

Every since I updated it it won't count my steps any more

Okay I'll try to remember that,  but why doesn't fit automatically sync before midnight on its own? It doesn't seem right that the user has to perform a manual before he or she goes to bed.
