Charge 3 won’t sync and won’t pair after removing it

I know there are only like 3 people that have this device right now, but if anyone else that has it can check...is yours syncing ok? Mine last synced 4 hours ago and when trying to force a manual sync it wouldn’t get past “looking.” I tried the usual fixes - turning bluetooth off and on, removing the C3 from the app and my phone and attempting to re-add it, power cycling my phone...nothing works. The user manual says to press the side button for 8 seconds to reset, but all that does is bring up the screen wake/notifications toggle screen. Just issues due to it being new/unreleased, or is it possible it crapped out on me already?!

I am having the same problem we’re you able to resolve it. My hasn’t been able to sync for days and I’ve tried all the same things. I have only had it since January

Best Answer
No, I don't believe it's been solved bcuz you never know when your C3 will
cease to function & you will then need to do the fix drill all over again
and again. There ought to be a C3 recall.

Can’t pair my Fitbit Charge 3 either. I’ve tried all of the accepted solutions, especially those that have previously worked. Nothing. Now I removed the device and can’t get it to add on any device I own (iPhone, iPad, windows 10 computer or a Samsung phone). I don’t want to do a complete erase since it hasn’t synced since Sunday morning and I don’t want to lose all the data.

I've only had this Fitbit since the end of January and have had issues like this at least twice now. This time being the worst.

If you’ve had it since the end of January imo do a complete erase.

Complete erase? All that will do is allow syncing again for a day or two, and then back to the same problem when there is "too much" data again or whatever else is causing this problem. But telling people to eat all of their unsynced data is not a solution, and would cause them to lose everything they've gained up to that point.

No I have not had any luck, my old Fitbit didn’t seem to have any problems but my new charge 3 is hopeless At syncing. If you do a factory reset it works the first time then it is back to not syncing and you loose the accumulated data. Fitbit seem to be ignoring the problem

If you have already tried this then you should return it.

Try this:

1. Remove the tracker from your phone's bluetooth settings

2. On C3 go to settings

3. Scroll down to About and click

4. Scroll down to "Reset Device" and click (your data will not be erased)

5. On your phone's FB app go to "Set Up a Device"

6. Once the phone finds C3 the tracker will display a code to enter in the phone. Enter the code

7. Once it is accepted the tracker will show FB logo meaning it is syncing

8. Wait for about 15 minutes or more to let it finish pairing and syncing all your data

9. Most importantly, keep your fingers crossed that this last step does work as it took about 3 or 4 attempts for it finally work.

If you can, I suggest you take it back for full refund. C3 is very
unreliable & the C3 Community Forum is rife with syncing and pairing
problems.

Thanks for that, I’ll give it a try 🙂

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing fine!

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this setup issue by yourselves. @Kaisercat and @IaG thanks for the input.

@Nat8, @SunsetRunner, @Jbgroth@xxSkatzxx and @Brett_Cocks, I would like to know if you keep having issues pairing your Charge 3? If so, follow the instructions provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?.

See you around. Smiley Wink

Hi
It happens every few days. I really regret this purchase and will definitely not be buying another one or recommending this product to anyone. I can’t believe there has not been a recall when soooooo many people are experiencing the same issue.

I am fed up with this hopeless product.  The only way it will sync is to remove it, place it in the chatrger, and reset.  I have to do this every day.

According to the data I have not had a decent nights sleep for weeks and never sleep long enough for it to record data.  I go to the gym  2 or 3 times per week - these visits are never recorded.  I managed a total of 382 steps yesterday according to the device - I was actually at work , walked from the carpark 800 mtrs, did the shopping in a large supermarket and spent 80 minutes at the gym.  I went for a walk to the village pub in the eventing just over half a mile.

There can be no confidence in any data provided by this over hyped piece of ..........  I am reverting to my Seiko - at least I can read the time without using two hands.

Today I have burnt 775 Calories taken 37 steps covering 60 yds (big steps) and not slept at all last night. I apparently sleep for only 3 hrs per night on average!

JUNK

I wonder how long it has to goon and how many more people they have to disappoint before some thing is done.

I did this and it worked! Thank you SO much for the help. I'm praying it is a true fix and not a stop-gap until it fails again.

Please tell me what you did.  I have had this Fitbit since it was launched in Oct/Nov and it has never worked.  Again it will not sync this morning, Since 0600 I apparently have not taken a step and I did not sleep at all last night according to this junk.  Not quite sure how I got to the office without taking a step.  At least I can tell my heart is beating

Davidthesailor,

Can you change the clock face?  That will let you know if it's connecting via bluetooth at all.  The bluetooth in mine quit working, which is why I returned it.

If you can change the clockface, can you do a factory reset on the C3 as well as delete and reload the app on your phone?  Yes, you'll lose all your data doing this, but it appears you're not getting it anyway.

Lastly, have you contacted customer service?  Sounds like yours is due for a replacement.  I wish I could say the replacement devices are better.

BTW, how far off is your heartrate sensor?  Mine was 20-40 bpm off all the time.

Had to do a factory reset to get my to pair and sync. Seems to be working at this point but definitely slow when syncing now.
