They told me the exact same BS, that 45 day window is for their "Satisfaction Guarantee" and is totally unrelated to warranty!

Their own page shows the device is protected by a one year warranty.  I plan on returning mine to REI (where I purchased it) to see if they'll accept the return.

What finally worked for me? I called them and they had me remove my old fitbit charger HR, which it was still constantly searching for. That did the trick and now I don't have to even think about it syncing anymore.

Why do we have to unpair and then pair it again? Should work right with no issues!!

In my case at least, I was unpairing it from an old, no longer used fitbit and that's what was causing the error.

The only thing that has worked for me is uninstalling and reinstalling every time I want to sync.    Ugh!

You must have a "smart" phone

I just bought my charge 3 and it hasn’t successfully done the initial sync. How do I fix it?

Strange, mine has synched regularly for 6 months. It has not synched to my Surface Pro6 in the last 3 days. I have reset the Charge 3 but the app still cannot find the tracker.

I have had a Fitbit Alta for a couple of years with no issues but wanted some additional functionality, so I upgraded to the Charge 3. It was syncing very sporadically and now it will not synch at all. I have removed it from my Bluetooth and have deleted it from my Fitbit app. It now cannot find the device to read it. I am very frustrated and it sounds like I am not alone. Would appreciate any suggestions.

Yes I found my Charge 3 to be flaky at times.  Besides dropping the tracker from your app, as it sounds like you are doing - and removing the tracker from your bluetooth in your phone, I'd suggest that you do another reset on your Charge 3 (hold down the left side button until you get the smiling face).  Good luck.

Finally got it to synch. I reset the Charge 3 three or four times, restarted the app on the surface Pro6, and eventually restarted the computer. Finally, it synched.

What worked for me was turning off the old fitbit. After that - piece of cake.

Your answer was very helpful to me!  After spending a week trying to get my C3 to sync, and spending time with Fitbit on the phone and chat, THIS is what fixed my issues!  I deleted my Alta HR!  THANK YOU!

I have an Apple and unpaired my Fitbit charge 3, went back to my account in “set up new device”, twice, and it still won’t sync. Mine started acting up after setting up the weather app. Any other suggestions?

After reporting my earlier success, a day or two later and the Charge3 still had not synched. I contacted FitBit Support, detailed the trouble-shooting to the agent, tried a couple of things he wanted, and my Charge3 was replaced under warranty.

My S8 wouldn't sync - tried everything suggested including reloading the software and now the fitbit isn't even set up on my phone anymore and won't.  Meanwhile online chat has hung up on me twice and now won't let me back in.  Ignored by Twitter support.

My replacement (under warranty) fine for a few weeks but then it too stopped synching. It seems strange to me that the first one synched fine for several months - no changes on  my part - and then stopped synching. Then, the second one synched fine for several weeks - no changes by me - and then stopped synching. It seems to me that this indicates one of two things. Either the product has a defective design OR, Fitbit makes software changes that do not work correctly.

I got the new one to synch again by removing the Charge 3 from the app, uninstalling the software app, downloading the app again (to my Windows 10 Surface Pro 6), and adding the Charge 3 to the app.

I have been at it for three hours and tried everything. Won’t buy a Fitbit ever again after spending time and going though every available option

I hear you!  Only thing I can add is did you restart the watch? From the settings menu.

you know that other brand... might be more expensive, but is my next watch.  Will never buy a fitbit again!!
