Hello, I have just purchased a Charge 4. I was configuring ans pairing it with smartphone app. I was in the "app" section in Fitbit Android app, and tried to install SpO2, but "install" button is grayed out, and I get a red warning that the Android app and firmware of device must be updated to latest version before installing this app on it.
Now, my Android app is for sure up to date, whereas the firmware my charge 4 came with is the 20001.96.29.
What am I missing to be able to install SpO2 on my charge4?

Is this still the case? I bought the Charge 4 in part for this feature. Plus this help article says the app should be there : https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2459.htm
Does the charge 4 not have the ability to monitor SpO2??
Confirm that with the newest firmware the SpO2 app is now available and working.
It does not show instantaneous saturation level "on demand", though, but only an average value calculated over the latest period of sleep.
Best AnswerAs of March 31, 2021, 8:20 pm, you can now track SpO2 on Fitbit Charge 4! Fitbit was still working on it when you asked, but now it came out at last! Just install the new update and download the app! You are good to go! (At least in iPhone...)

I just bought the Charge 4 to replace my Charge 3. What is the latest update? I have 48.20001.96.29 firmware and 3.40.1 (20243559) (Android). I still don't even see the option to install SpO2 app...? It says it's up-to-date...
Any help would be greatly appreciated! 😊
It's been 4 nights and nothing is showing for temp and SpO2. Still the same versions of software/firmware as previously mentioned with no prompt to update.....yet.

I was facing the same issue. As I'm outside US, I tried connecting to a US VPN and tied the Apps -> All Apps window. To my surprise, the SpO2 app is there without any more update or anything. You can give it a shot if you are outside US as well.
Update: As soon as I disconnected my VPN, the SpO2 app disappeared again.

I'm in New Zealand, and yep, same deal No SpO2 app visible 🤔 My main objective in purchasing a device was heart related health.
I did A LOT of research prior to purchase to make sure the device would have the necessary capabilities and sensors (Red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation SpO2 monitoring) before shortlisting the Charge 4 as a possible option.
I have to agree with the above comments that there's a lot of unclear, misleading information on the "Actual" capabilities of the Charge 4 (maybe something that could be brought to the attention of your advertising department?).
Best AnswerIs the firmware version i'm running not the latest? (Firmware 48.20001.96.29) ... I have no "update" (i.e, Tap the pink Update button. This option only appears if an update is available) option showing in my app as yet? Only purchased / initial setup a couple of days ago. What is the latest firmware version? many thanks ...
Best AnswerWhen I bought the charge 3 day’s ago I was told the SPO2 was available. When I called support they said I had an update to do. I did the update. Still no SPO2. I called support back. Then they said I needed a firmware update. They checked it for me and said I was at 48% update for that. How long does it take to update firmware? Why was I told this tracker had SPO2 when it didn’t? Very disappointed.
Best AnswerI hear you. Thanks for your feedback on this. I'm a bloodhound when I get into something like this, so I'm still researching at present, looking through the full pdf manual for the Charge 4 (of which btw if you do a Ctrl-F 'find word' for "spO2" it finds 0/0 instances ... a search for the word "oxygen" gives only 1/1 instance, on page 33 "Charge 4 also tracks your estimated oxygen variation throughout the night [...] " mmmm 🤔
Still searching online for all relevant info I can get hold of, If I can find a solution, I will let you know. hang in there! 😉 I'm guessing the spO2 clock faces will show up, become available once the SpO2 app is available and working. I think it's as Michael_K12 stated above, just a matter of waiting for a firmware update to be available within the app maybe? ... Just would've thought I'd be running the latest version having initially set up the device only 3 days ago ...
I'd like to know what the very latest firmware version number is for the Charge 4? That will at least let me know whether or not I'm running the latest.
Sounds like you may have only partially downloaded/installed your firmware update (%48 you said ...), I'm wondering is there a way to overwrite/force a reinstall of the firmware even if the "Tap the pink Update button [...]" isn't available within the app? That might be what you, (and possibly I need to do).
I will continue to research ...
All the best everyone! 🖖
Best AnswerAlso outside the US. Japan to be specific. Got the firmware update yesterday, but this morning, no SpO2 data. Also no app in the Heatlh metrics section of the device.
Per Napstar's advice, I connected to a US VPN and sure enough, the app shows up in the list of apps on the iphone fitbit dashboard, and the SpO2 tile shows up on below sleep data tile on the health metrics part of the device user interface (swipe up from the clockface).
I did not have any data this morning in the skin temp or SpO2 section.
Will leave my iphone connected to the US VPN tonight and see if that get the oxygen saturation data collection started.
All in all a frustrating experience so far.
Ever since the upgrade to 48.20001.100.43 the Spo2 has stopped reporting on.my Charge 4. I updated the Spo2 app , uninstalled it reinstalled the Spo2 app and cleared fitbit cache on my phone and still no Spo2 data after resynching.
Best AnswerWell this sucks, I bought the Charge 4 because of this sensor. Luckily I should be able to return it since I just got it today.
Hi Kate, Is this old information? I think I finished the update and loaded the app. Does it only read O2 at night? I just purchased the charge 4, so I'm working it out.
I also have a question about Fitbit premium. If you do the 90 days for free, will I get an additional 12 months for 79.99, or is it nine months?
Thanks
