I can’t see my Fitbit screen if I’m outside

Is the screen set for auto or full brightness?
Reviewers are claiming that it is better then the Charge 3 while outdoors.
Unfortunately their is only so much that can be done in sunlight when the tracker produces it's own light. Like your phone, in bright sunlight, there can be issues.

Welcome to the Community, @Luwanna and @Rich_Laue, thanks for the input.
If you haven't checked your tracker's brightness, I recommend checking this by swiping to settings from your tracker and go to the brightness option.
You can also try to restart your device by following the steps in the article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
Let me know how it goes. 🙂

I agree. I just bought this and can't see a think outside. It's useless to me because my workouts are outside! I think I'll have to return it and buy something else that's brighter.

A warm welcome to the Forums, @RunDawn.
I understand how are you feeling and appreciate the feedback about the Charge 4 brightness. Please take a look at the Charge 4 screen brightness boost request, vote for it and leave your comment.
Let me know if you need anything else. 🙂

Why does my Fitbit Charge 4 only light up the first 2 numbers for the time, and basically I can't even see it because the light is super dim? I've tried to get it brighter with the settings but I can only put it on normal, dim or Auto....I'm not happy with this

I had trouble for a long time... just saw it was set to sleep mode 🙄...check that?

That fixed it for me.
Turning off
Sleep mode
1. Hold left button.
2. Uncheck sleep mode
(If you have wallet enabled , you may need to swipe right to get to sleep mode)

The dim/brightness feature is not adequate. When I’m indoors and need the time, I look at a clock on the wall or my oven. But when I’m outside all I have is the Fitbit on my wrist. Because I have yet to find a feature to extend the screen time which I believe doesn’t exist, by the time my eyes try to adjust to read the screen, the screen has shut down. The screen is difficult to read anyway because the screen is split with 2 different features. My original Fitbit display used the whole screen. Charge 4 is harder to read in the first place much less when it’s so darn dim. This is my 3rd and LAST FitBit. So disappointed.

I did this and discovered mine was switched to 'dim'. Made a difference!!

Why do people have to vote to be able to see the screen on a watch?? Surely that’s a basic expectation from a watch isn’t it??

Hi Rob,
Thank you so much - it's been driving me crazy - but switching off sleep mode made the watch-face very bright and visible outside 😀

Hey @rozzie_lee, great to see you here.
I am glad to hear that the instructions provided in this thread worked and that your Charge 4 is now working properly. If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.
Happy stepping!

Thanks for this tip. I am having the same problem. It is dim when outside but was not this way when first purchased. Hopefully this will work.

SUGGESTION FOR FITBIT -- If the poorly readable screen cannot be improved, at least give us more than the 3 seconds to squint and read the screen. Even 1, or 2, more seconds would help in focusing and reading the screen before it shuts off.

The screen time option DOES exist. Simply push the button to turn on the screen, swipe right to the last menu, hit settings, then both screen brightness and screen time are on there. Screen time is near the bottom if you scroll down. The annoying thing is each time you press screen time to change it, you'll see the warning "increasing screen time may reduce battery life yada yada yada" and then you push the button again to go back to the screen time option and push it again to reach the next setting. Kind of redundant, but not difficult and it certainly does exist

My swipe doesn't work 3/4 of the time. I can't get to the settings to change it. I can't see the dim screen to see what I reach when I swipe and something shows. I tap on anything, but can't read the tiny words when it shows up. So it doesn't work.
