Fitbit Charge 2 Band issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 2 was purchased a little less than 10 months ago, but I had band issues where top band doesn't stay clicked in starting after 3 or 4 months of my purchase. During that time, I replaced my band with a new one, but the same issue occurred only after a few weeks of having it replaced. No matter how hard I pressed, it didn't click in. I'd have my fitbit falling off randomly, and I thankfully had honest strangers who tapped me on the shoulder to hand it back to me, but I'm scared that I will lose my fitbit very soon. The fitbit came off my wrist while boarding the train once, and if it didn't land inside of the vehicle, I would have lost my fitbit that day. I'm afraid this might happen to me again because I ride the train often. I tried tightening the screw like other posts suggest, but it didn't quite work. What did work for me was when I lifted up the metal prong a bit, but I feel as if though this is only a temporary fix, and I still do not feel safe. The top band still feels a bit lose with a bit of wiggle, and it isn't as secure as the bottom band. My warranty is about to be up soon, and I was wondering if it would be possible to get my fitbit replaced. I really hope that it is possible because I don't think a product as popular as this should break this easily.

Basically it's a poor design, my daughter has had five different bands! I've had one side replaced, and I'm about to replace the other. The only plus point is that they send you a new one for free, providing it is within guarantee of course.

I got a charge 2 only 9 months ago and also bought a leather band. So far the leather band has broken off at the face and has needed to be replaced twice. The original rubber band is now starting to loosen at the same place and I'm sure this an ongoing design fault which Fitbit just aren't dealing with. I am waiting for my leather band replacement to arrive and I am going to contact Fitbit again and ask for a complete replacement before I lose my charge 2 😞 Very disappointed.

I am having the same problems with my Fitbit and I have had it for only four months. I am very frustrated. I am getting ready to contact Fitbit about this. What is the best way to contact them?

I talked about this in another post. I like the Charge 2 but hated the bulkiness of the band. I bought a metal magnetic band from Amazon. Much more stylish, lighter weight and extremely comfortable. Got multiple colors so I can switch then around to match other jewelry.

I had a band problem in that mine started to fall off after 8 months. Eventually it dropped off altogether and I noticed the clip attachment had snapped. It was a gift from my husband so, together with all the paperwork, receipt etc, we returned it yesterday. It was replaced completely. Excellent service. I only expected a new strap replacement but the whole Fitbit was replaced.

I emailed them with photos and have had to send each of the leather straps back by tracked post. Given the amount of people with the same recurring problem I think it's a bit much to have to return the faulty bands. Good luck 😉

I love what the Fitbit does but I am on my third version(Alta, Charge and now Charge2).  Every version has had band issues after 5 months.  Fitbit is very accommodating with replacements but it is frustrating to chronically have to contact them, explain the problem and then have to wait for the replacement.  I am currently waiting for a new band for the Charge 2 which I bought in October.   As I love the output, does anyone have a Fitbit Version that has actually lasted more than a year without an issue?  I am looking for a trouble free reliable  prioduct.

I too had problems with the band which snapped. The replacement has been fine so far. I bought some spare bands on another website and alternate those which is probably why this time it seems to be lasting.

Thanks. I appreciate your response. I may need to buy extra bands. Mine is taped together while I am waiting for new band from Fitbit.

That was the reason I bought spares. Mine fell off my wrist a couple of times and had a friend who was walking behind me not seen it I would have lost it. To be honest I bought cheap ones that fit the Fitbit Charge 2 in different colours from Groupon and they have been great at a fraction of the price. You have to pay postage per band but they are still a lot less. I have 2 extra coloured ones and two metal. Good luck.

I mentioned these in a previous post but I bought a metal magnetic band off amazon. works so much better than the rubber band, looks much nicer - more like a piece of jewelry - thinner and lighter. Band stays on even with my playing drums and guitar. can get them in a variety of colors. Search for "charge 2 bands magnetic".

Sounds like a plan my friend. My thought is that if the face of the Fitbit was square, then there would not be so much pressure on the band as it starts to go around the wrist.

I’ve also bought the metal magnetic bands and had no more problems with the fitbit coming loose

I really think you'll like these metallic bands. Much more flexible, the curve where the tracker clips on is at a much better angle and allows the tracker to sit flat. And the best part is no more sweaty wrist from that rubber band.

Think I will try that option as I am fatigued with having to replace every 5 months. Disrupts workout tracking. Thanks so much.
