Fitbit Charge 2 Band issues

My Charge 2 was purchased a little less than 10 months ago, but I had band issues where top band doesn't stay clicked in starting after 3 or 4 months of my purchase. During that time, I replaced my band with a new one, but the same issue occurred only after a few weeks of having it replaced. No matter how hard I pressed, it didn't click in. I'd have my fitbit falling off randomly, and I thankfully had honest strangers who tapped me on the shoulder to hand it back to me, but I'm scared that I will lose my fitbit very soon. The fitbit came off my wrist while boarding the train once, and if it didn't land inside of the vehicle, I would have lost my fitbit that day. I'm afraid this might happen to me again because I ride the train often. I tried tightening the screw like other posts suggest, but it didn't quite work. What did work for me was when I lifted up the metal prong a bit, but I feel as if though this is only a temporary fix, and I still do not feel safe. The top band still feels a bit lose with a bit of wiggle, and it isn't as secure as the bottom band. My warranty is about to be up soon, and I was wondering if it would be possible to get my fitbit replaced. I really hope that it is possible because I don't think a product as popular as this should break this easily.

Charts3 hope you are having better luck with your band than many of us have had with our bands.

Hi, I received a replacement band, (2nd one), from Fitbit, but also purchased via the internet, for myself and my husband, one of the metal magnetic fastening bands, mine in like a deep brown and his in black. Very stylish, very simple to use, and so far, way more reliable than the Fitbit ones.

@JBGlobal my only complaint is that if my wrist rests on a metal object. Sometimes the magnet gets pulled away when I move the wrist. 🙀

I can't tell you how many people have bought these bands after seeing mine.

I really like my magnetic bands but they snag on every shirt I have.  Any suggestions?  I thought I might try putting clear polish on the edges.

Broken band strap.

really disappointed to read all the complaints over such a long period about the failure of the straps. Got mine as a present last Christmas and the strap broke last week!. Not had a hard life and been well looked after. No paperwork so am hoping the company will be fair with me. However, there are many complaints so surely their design team should have solved the problem by now. Not satisfactory to have to buy better replacements from other suppliers.

I have just purchased a competitor fitness band because of my frustration with continually having to replace the Fitbit wristbands. Do hope others have better luck with their Fitbit products than I have had and I will have better success with my competitor replacement.

Buy one of nice alternatives found on Amazon. It will be the best under 10USD you spend this month.

Jogger, agree with you wholeheartedly. My attempt to make a cost-effective move to a competitor did not pan out. The battery life was short and the features were not as user-friendly. On Cyber Monday, I saw a deal that caused me to return to Fitbit, purchased the Versa 2 which has a different type of band. Received it today, so we will see how this Fitbit model works in terms of band durability. Jogger, do wish you success in finding a solution that works for you.

In the meantime, I definitely will keep this forum and customer service posted to the status of how the Versa 2 model works out for me.
