How do I delete old notifications?

Everyday I get notifications telling me that either I need a certain amount of steps to reach my goal, or that I'm an over achiever with so many steps above my daily goal.  That's great, however I now have 198 notifications showing.  How can I delete all these older ones?  Thanks!

Hi!
It depends on your device. I use a Charge 2 in an iPhone. You can delete only one at a time.Since I deleted all my notifications earlier in the year and I have not received a single notification since then.
To delete a notification I go to the notifications and and select a notification and swipe to the left. A Delete appears, I tap the delete and it disappears. I assume that still works. I couldn’t test it because I had no notifications.

I still have notifications going back to August 2017.  It isn't fixed for me.

I am sorry to hear that. It has been an ongoing problem. I bought my Charge 2 in February of 2017. I accumulated about 6 months of notifications and tried to delete some. After much frustration I was told that they disappear after 30 days which was evidently not true but that was the answer they gave all of us who complained. After about 2 years of complaining and pointing out that a simple programming of a delete function would fix this, one finally appeared. My understanding is that it depends on your Fitbit device and your app device. I can only speak from my experience: with a Charge 2 and an iPhone 8, go to the list of notifications, swipe a single notification to the left, a delete appears, tap it and that notification disappears. Each notification must be deleted separately one at a time (irritatingly).
My understanding is that those who use a non-iPhone app, press the notification and hold and a delete will appear below and you tap the delete to remove. Again my understanding is that it must be one at a time

If you have tried these, all I can offer is that being frustrated is the price we pay for choosing Fitbit. I have had several complaints and the notifications one is the only one that I finally had partially resolved. If neither of these work, I’m sorry. I wish I could of more help.

I have an Android phone. I was told to hold each notification message down
and a delete will pop up. Just hit delete.

That's how it worked for me. Hold down on message. Tap the word delete when it appears.  Sent from Samsung tablet.

I'm in the same boat, so to speak. I can not delete notifications by swiping or holding down an icon.

Did it work for you, because it doesn't for me?

So sorry that neither worked for you. It worked for some of us in the past but we understand your frustration. I no longer get notifications so I have no idea whether those Instructions still work. Fitbit is not very responsive to problems with their product. Perhaps if you provide the app platform and model of your Fitbit, someone with a newer version will have more insight.
Good luck.

WendyB,

They do not drop off on the app.  I have an Android phone and there are notifications dating back to August of 2017.  I cannot sit there and delete them one at a time on the phone app. Truly amazing there is no option to delete all!

I know. Ridiculous isn't it. I had to delete one at a time. 3 years worth

Definitely lacking in that regard and I see know reason for them not to give us that option.
