How do I delete old notifications?

Everyday I get notifications telling me that either I need a certain amount of steps to reach my goal, or that I'm an over achiever with so many steps above my daily goal.  That's great, however I now have 198 notifications showing.  How can I delete all these older ones?  Thanks!

Bummer. That’s something Fitbit could improve upon.

Hi!!

I had the same question. From your answer I understand that after 30 days the messages get deleted. But my oldest message is from may 23 rd of this year.

Does it clear when Fitbit gets an update?

Thanks!

Never cleared. Bought a new Samsung smart watch, so far, much better.
Thank you for your text.

They never drop off. I have messages from April 2018. Several fitbit updates since then. Nothing works.

Best Answer
Nope, I have notifications 2 years old. Kind of annoying!

Hello,
I’ve had my Fitbit for a few years and despite updates, the old
messages/notifications never clear.

Same here. Messages from April 2018.

I tried that, and I still have notifications dating back to June 2018 (it is August 2019).

This is not the case.  I have 238 notifications.  I have had my Charge2 since February 11, 2018.  The messages range from February 11 (I assume of this year) through June 16 (of course it could be last year).  That is more like 4 months than 31 days.   I asked about this about a year ago and received the answer given here: they can't be erased but they drop off in 30 days.  Not only do they not drop off it seems that they drop off on the anniversary of purchase (maybe) but they seem to stop retaining notifications after about 4 or 5 months.

I have become very disenchanted with Fitbit.  Response to customer concerns and requests are poor if not completely non-existent.  My Fitbit no longer provides the information on heart rate during Tracked exercise.  I no longer see the breakdown of the rate categories and no longer have information on my highest heart rate during the exercise.  This is important for me.

I checked on this problem in the conversations and find that this has happened to multiple users of Fitbits and not only Charge 2s.  We all seem to have the problem start on the same day (July 29).  The suggestions for correcting the problem are useless: none of them have worked.  The information is not only missing from the app on my iPhone but on the website.

There seems to be an inability or a disinterest for the techies for Fitbit to solve two software problems.  That says to me that Fitbit does not care about assisting the purchasers of their products.  My Charge 2 certainly has its problems (it also tracks my walk when I am in the local mall and only the time and the steps are correct; it records me walking a mile at a pace between 9 minutes and 12 minutes when my usual pace is around 24 -- I'm 71 so that is unlikely) but I enjoyed using it, but now it causes me more aggravation than delight.

Is it possible to delete this post?  I get ALOT of e-mails from fitbit users who clearly have notifications from years ago. So, this is clearly not true.

Best Answer

This is clearly false. Now, not only can I not delete my notifications, I get e-mail every so often from fitbit users with notifications going back years. It would be nice if you would fix the software, but if you are not going to do that, please stop telling us it does something it clearly does not.

How difficult can it be to make the change? They've had years.

can I delete old notifications from my Fitbit charge 3?

You can’t do it on a Charge 2. And the only response one gets from the Fitbit folks when I asked was no but they are removed after 30 days. That is not true for Charge 2 because I have over 250 notifications that have been there since February 11 and no new ones since some time in June.
Hope they fixed that problem for the Charge 3. But I doubt it!

Hi thanks for the feedback, and you’re right I’ve so many notifications on the Charge 3 dating back a couple of years and no new ones, so obviously no improvement,
Best Answer
Apparently not, fitbit has had lots of complainers, but no fixers.

My app notifications have been there since April 2018.  15 months. They do NOT drop off.

Best Answer
Totally agree, my notifications go back to 2017.
