Need help - flashing between notifications on/off

I need help as my Fitbit Charge 2 started flashing between notifications on/off several hours ago. My battery was getting low so I fully charged my Charge 2. It is still flashing on/off. I would really appreciate an answer & solution for this as I love using my Fitbit.

Let me know if any more info is needed.

That suggests to me that the button on the Charge 2 is stuck (pressing and holding the button turns the notifications on / off)

Try gently wiggling it to see if you can release it.

I tried for several minutes to wiggle the button with no success. Does anyone else have any suggestions. As of right now I have a completely useless Fitbit Charge 2.

@Jennif6915 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't working as it should. Besides the suggestions @SteveH shared you can try using compressed air at a distance to see if this clears any debris or dirt in the button area and restart your tracker by doing the following:

Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.

Let me know how it goes!

I’m having the same issue and the above suggestions are not solving the problem. Now just the battery light is showing. Any other suggestions

No the button is not stuck, in fact if you hold the button down, the Fitbit behaves normally.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I thought I had messed up the side button causing the Fitbit to go crazy. I tried every suggestion online ... resetting the Fitbit, restarting my phone, reinstalling the Fitbit app, turning Bluetooth on/off, etc. I eventually gave up and left the Fitbit on my dresser for the past week allowng the battery to fully drain. I decided to recharged it yesterday and it’s back to normal! Problem solved! Hope it works for you too!

Let the battery fully drain on its own and recharge it ... worked for me! I tried all the other suggestions and no success.

Hi Claudia, mine started malfunctioning (notifications on and off) right now. Quick one, how long does it take to completely drain the device?

Hi Waylon,

I believe mine was at around 60% when the notification feature went haywire. I would say it took at least another day or two to fully drain and no longer pair with the Fitbit app.

However, it was exactly a week after it malfunctioned that I attempted to charge it again. When I placed it in the charger it didn’t respond immediately. I had to fiddle with it in the charging cradle and in less than a minute it finally made that classic buzz sound as the battery charging symbol displayed on the screen. I charged it up to 43% and have been using it since yesterday with no issues.

Hope it works for you too! Good luck!

Regards,
Claudia

My charge 2 is having this problem right now - notifications flashing on and off. I've tried restarting the Fitbit, turning my phone and bluetooth off and on,  etc. None is working. Any other suggestions, please?

How did this go please? Is the device okay now?

Try draining the battery like I did and recharging. I’ve had no issues since!

Haven’t had the problem since. It’s as though draining the battery fixed the glitch ... nor sure why, but I’d give it a try if you’re having the same problem. Good luck!

Sigh.
Tried letting it sit for a week then recharging and still does the flashing.

I was also facing same issue few days back, when contacted fitbit customer care, they said its malfunctioned and need to replace. but it was out of warranty so kept aside. Few days back I changed again to check the problem, surprisingly it is working fine till date.
