Not getting text notifications from IOS

Set my charge 2 yesterday but so far despite getting text I have not been able to get any text notification on my tracker I doing something wrong?

Hi good day yesterday I bought a Fitbit charge2 I have an iPhone 7plus I pair it with the Fitbit charge2 but I am not receiving calls and texts message I unpair an pair it again it the same thing no calls no texts message

I went through settings in my phone like was listed, and thought it would never work....and read further of the person saying they checked the settings on the actual watch by scrolling though with the side button...and indeed, I had turned off NOTIFICATIONS!;/  And now texts and calls show up:D  Thank you all for genius help!!

This helped so much!! I also had accidentally turned the notifications off from my charge 2, all I had to do was press down the button while on the clock face and everything was fixed!! Thanks!

Thank you SO much.  after returning first fitbit Alta HR because i thought it was a "lemon".   i followed your steps to receive text messages and it works!!  i even called tech support and did 2 on-line "chats" and they were unable to help.  you saved me!!!  i did not have the "show preview" icon ON- it was off,

My wife and I were travelling abroad and turned off a lot of things on our phones to avoid data costs. I have tried multiple things to make it get the text and call notifactions including deleting and reloading the app. All I had to do was hold the charge 2 button down and select "on" for notifications.

Thank you for all the tips!  I was getting pretty desperate there but finally have it working.  Here is EVERYTHING that I have seen suggested in my long searches to get this to work.  Unless noted, the steps did not solve my problem but I wanted to list them so others can come to one place.

I have an iPhone.

1. Delete the Charge 2 from your Bluetooth settings.  The Fitbit App will still know about the device and automatically re-pair
2. Turn on Message Notifications in my iPhone settings (the "6 steps" listed earlier in this thread)
3. Rebooted my Charge 2 by putting it in the charger and holding down the button until the screen showed it reboot.
4. Hold down the button on my Charge 2 until I got to Notifications menu ON THE FITBIT.  (This was off for me;  changing this setting likely helped)
5. Deleted my Charge 2 from within the Fitbit App itself (Account->Charge2->Remove) and added it back (Account->Set Up Device).  I had to go through all the first time setup where they ask you what hand you wear it on etc.  But after this, it worked!

I was going crazy trying to figure this out! All notifications were on, when the clock is showing just hold in the button on the charge 2, it will turn notifications on/off. brilliant!

ios 11 does not have a "show in notification center" option.  Every solution I see says that you have to enable that.  Maybe someone can tell me where this option is.

My tracker will buzz with a phone call, but will not display anything on the screen.  I can't even get a buzz when I receive a text.
