Hi ,

I totally agree with everyone's concern on cracked screen on charge2. I too had the same issue few days back. I had done web chat with fitbit support and i got lucky and they sent me a replacement fibit charge2 device (as mine was under warranty, it was just 2 months old when the screen cracked). Thanks to Fitbit :). I wish everyone all the best.

Yes you were one of the fortunate ones sadly when I was doing my research as I mentioned before I kept hitting a brick wall, fell into this helpful thread that mentioned to contact customer service, unfortunately.I was past  my 1 year warranty.

I was notified yesterday that my Post was removed due to content.  I was asking if anyone had found another brand that was as good or better.
Best Answer

I haven't really researched that yet as my CRACKED Fitbit Charge 2 still works but I have experienced the same problem of being taken off the site.

The definitely try to control the narrative. It's hard to put spin on a
defective product.

Hi to you all.

just to let you all know , I have found another way to promote my wonderful Fitbit charge2 ( complete with a huge crack in the screen)

visited the gym this morning as usual. and decided to pin my Charge 2 to the notice board for all to see .

i was hoping that someone would take it!

then I could claim on my insurance.......

But no luck guys, so unfortunately I’m stuck with it .!

Must start thinking of more promotional works on behalf of Fitbit.!!!!!!!!!!

It appears Fitbit has used a very hard and brittle plastic for there charge 2 screen which cracks very easily. I wish Fitbit would consider replacement part's and support.

My charge 2 is two years old and has just cracked, probably caused from tapping the screen with my finger nail  😒

LOL,   Funny you would say that, I tap my screen as well, to see if it will go on when I am outdoors.

I think I will have to replace my fitbit, with a Samsung watch/fitness tracker. It should work well with my Samsung phone. Pretty mad that I sunk an extra $80 into my Charge 2 for a leather strap because I can't wear the silicone ones.

Hi guys! I'd like to start by saying that I totally understand where your concerns are coming from and that this is an important topic to the everyone in this thread. Believe me, we as moderators are doing our best to solve this.

The feedback provided has been passed along. As it has mentioned in the whole thread, I'd recommend taking a look at the Warranty Policies. When a tracker suffers damage while under warranty, you can contact Customer Support. Discounts and replacements depend on tracker model and other factors.

As I can see, most of you have been in touch with our Support Team and were offered a discount according to your warranty status. Please know that this is the best option to help you get back on track.

I understand that this isn't the resolution you were hoping for, but rest assured we are always working to improve our products.

If there any questions present, please let me know.

I really wish you would quit making this same post to the community. We've already seen it too many times and it doesn't make yourpolicy or commitment to customer service any better. You're just making yourself look worse. We aren't fools and don't need you to keep repeating your poorcustomer service and warranty policy! Rosanna

It's not fair that we continue to lose while Fitbit continues to profit when it's a design issue.  Had I broken my Fitbit I would happily accept the pitiful 25% discount (which is not even as good as a sale price).

When you see generic trackers with the same sensor, color LCD screens and more features for 40$ on Amazon, paying 175$ to replace a poorly designed charge 2 that will just fail again is a rediculous solution.

I've spent 1000$ on Fitbit products for my family, including the first gen charge HR that fell apart because of Fitbit's poor design choices but I didn't learn. I replaced them with charge 2 HRs and now that I know they are faulty too, I'm done with Fitbit.

Now it's Fitbit's time to learn the hard way that if you keep making your customers pay for your mistakes, they won't be your customers .

I have see at least a couple hundred fitbit charge 2 with cracked screens  and it is absolutely a design flaw  most of them crack because the battery swells   or some kind of heat that comes from malfunctioning they know this is a problem  garmin had a battery issue  and even after the year was up they stood behind there product  if fitbit is not going to figure out how to fix this issue they need to stand behind their product

Hey folks! I hope you are having a great day! I

I'm sorry to hear about the inconveniences that you have had with the screen of your Charge 2. As I can read, some of you have taken good care of your Fitbit but still, this happened. Well, just like I have told to some other users, even though you take good care of your things, if it is possible, I would suggest to use a screen protector like those used for phones. I also consider myself a very careful person, but in order to prevent, I cut a little piece of a screen glass protector and put it on my Charge 2 to avoid scratches or lines on it.

I also see that some you have contacted our Support team for further help, and depending on your warranty, the policies aren't the same. However, I appreciate you have taken the time to get in touch with them.

I appreciate your comments guys, trust me, this information is constantly reviewed by our team, so I'm pretty sure that they are working in order to improve our products and services.

If you have further comments, keep us posted!

Unless you are going to start providing good customer service and replacing the defective items you should stop posting here.

Hi folks! Guess what. Screen protectors don't prevent damage due to poor
design, lack of testing or negligence. What you can do is exercise your
right as a consumer to choose a different company that values your loyalty
and hard-earned $. Let Fitbit know you don't appreciate being ignored and
taken advantage of.

Absoloutley! I'm going to replace my fitbit soon with a better known brand  that should not have issues syncing with my phone.

Thanks to Fitbit for wasting my money.

Best Answer

Yes, I am doing the same.  This is clearly a design issue, happening to numerous people and mostly shortly after the warranty is up.  Intentional design?  money grab?  what with this and the problematic issues with fitbit's heart rate monitoring, I think it is time to switch!
