Hello
I find this unacceptable that the charge 2 screen can not be replaced, mine is only a year and a half old and all of a sudden there is a crack down the middle. So one answer I read was that a new one must be bought and a 25% discount will be given. I am certainly not going to pay R3000 after one and a half years for a new one, I will rather buy another brand. I'm so dissapointed in Fitbit. After readimg most of the comments it seems that this happens right after the warranty is up. NOT IMPRESSED!!!

You can get a Charge 3 on Amazon for $130, so you did save some money but not what you should have for a factory defect, it should have been more like a 50% discount at the very least or better yet replace the defective unit. When they offered me their unreasonable discount, I just bought an Amazfit Bip for $80 and I am very happy with it.

Just changed the screen on one. It was super easy. Just 5 snaps and a ribbon cable. You will need tweezers to get the cable installed, but other than that it took me less than 2 minutes to do.

Where did you get the screen? Where did you find the instructions on how to change it? This was a Charge 2, that you replaced the screen on?

Out of the blue my Charge 2 screen has developed a SERIOUS crack. I see by other posts that I am definitely not alone. Hope that FitBit will address this major issue with all those impacted.

Hello 🙂
Do you have a charge 2. I read one of the comments from Fitbit saying that the charge 2 is a factory defect and that is why the screens are cracking and they cant replace it and need to buy a new fitbit. I am very keen to hear from you and where you got your screen. I am in South Africa and not sure if we can get a screen here.

Had 2 Charge 2's one didn't work but had a good screen. After reading that the screen couldn't be replaced on here I had to prove it wrong. I used to fix cell phones, so I just applied the same logic. It's on the level of changing a Galaxy S3 or S4 screen. You just use a pry tool and go around the edges under the screen and pop open the 5 clips keeping it in place. Then, lift the little lever that keeps the cable in place. Put the new cable in place and snap the new screen back on and you are done. I never shopped around to find any new screens, so I can't he;p you there.

If Fitbit is telling us that we have to buy a new unit, they sure aren’t going to sell replacement parts to anyone. I got rid of my Charge 2 so I can’t even look at it to see what the screen looks like anymore. If the screen can be replaced but they won’t do it, then that will all come out if this things goes to court.

Well, count me in as another with a vertical cracked screen yesterday. I've had my charge 2 well over a year. I'll wear it until it dies and then look for another brand.

So how do we get Fitbit to pay attention to all of us? And how do we get negative advertising out to the public to warn people about this product and this company?
