How does the samsung work with ios?

I am definitely not buying another Fitbit product, especially because they have no commitment to the environment (encouraging people with faulty/defective technology to simply buy another, instead of offering to fix the issue regardless of whether or not we have to pay). What kind of Samsung watch did you get, out of curiosity?

Boy this really sucks.  I got my charge 2 as a gift and I came here to find out how to fix the screen that cracked right down the middle.  It started out looking like a scratch or a crease and then cracked.  How to fix - buy a new one.  That isn’t going to happen and if I have to buy a new one, why would I buy another Fitbit?????

Mine split down the middle too. Right on the 11 month mark. Fitbit are sending me a replacement for free - it was a lovely conversation and they were very helpful. By looking at this forum it seems to be a common occurrence. I wonder if it’ll happen again with the new one?

Hey guys! I hope you are enjoying your day!

I appreciate your feedback in regards of the quality of your Charge 2 display. I can see that most of you are experiencing some issues with it since it got some scratches. Please note that here at Fitbit, our team uses the best materials for our trackers design so our users can take advantage of all the features of their Fitbit devices, without worrying about any damage.

For those who already contacted our Support team, I appreciate you have taken the time to do so. As you were explained, not all the options are the same for all the users. Everything depends on your warranty

Have a nice day!

If you were reading the posts, you would see that it is not a scratch, but the screen is cracking right down the middle and it is happening to lots of people.  Your design or your “best” materials have failed and you want to think of it as just a scratch that all these owners of the Charge 2, have caused in some way.  It is strange that you think that everyone has done something to damage their screen in exactly the same way.  Good customer support this isn’t.

Hi moderator
Thank heavens you are looking after us poor sods, who very unfortunately have purchased a Fitbit charge 2.
It’s so reassuring just knowing you are there thank you.

I experienced the same issue and it was 14 months after buying the tracker. I contacted the support team and they sent me a coupon for 25% off which does not work for charge 3!

This is my second fitbit tracker that has gone kaput right after the warranty window expires.

To contrast, I used misfit in the past and they do a much better job of standing behind their products. I had to stop using it because my corporate wellness program doesn't support misfit anymore.

I am going to use the current tracker till it dies but never buying fitbit again.

Apparently Fitbit's definition of best materials means what's best for them
rather than best for the customer. The sub-standard materials they use are
best for Fitbit because they erroneously think that having a product that
fails just outside of warranty will lead to more sales. Some folk might be
foolish enough to buy another Fitbit product, but I'm done. No more from
me.

HeydyFitbit,

Perhaps there is a future for you as a press secretary?  You have the ability to parrot your boss's message even though the facts don't support it.

HeydyFitbit, to just tell you what you already know, this thread isn’t about “some scratches,” it’s about a possible design flaw which causes a crack down the middle of the screen.

(Everybody else, you’d do well to look up ‘gaslighting.’)

I strongly encourage everyone to look into a different fitness tracker when it's reasonable for them. I replaced mine awhile ago, and I don't regret it.

I wish I had more knowledge when the fitbit was first purchased, but we, foolishly, though that anything that costs $200 must be worth it. We were wrong.

Sorry, this thread isn't about "scratches."   It's about cracks that run on the long axis of the screen for the length of the device.

I was talking to a guy from my church and noticed he had a Charge 2 on his arm.  I asked him if he liked it and he said he did and talked about the GPS tracking for his runs which was something I didn't know how to do.   I then asked him if it was cracked and he said yes it was and how did I know?   I asked how long he had had it and when had he noticed the crack. He replied about 14 months and he'd noticed the crack about a month before.  Then I told him about this thread in the forum.   For context, he works as a manager in a banking institution, so, no heavy construction for him.

I think the poster that posited that it likely has something to do with battery swelling is probably on to something.  That would make sense that some kind of internal pressure creates a displacement that ultimately ends up cracking the device screen as it doesn't seem to be dependent upon actual intensity of usage.

And for forecasting purposes, I've seen a few sales in the past many days for Fitbit devices, including one for a Charge 2 that I considered for my wife.  But based upon my experience with my Charge 2 and Fitbit's response to the issue, I opted not to purchase any other Fitbit devices.  The topic of trackers came up at a family get together this past week and my contribution to the discussion was that while I had enjoyed having the Charge 2, I won't be purchasing another Fitbit device because of this problem.  I also saw, within the past month, a discussion about a Fitbit device sale on Slickdeals that referenced this thread as a reason not to purchase the item being discussed.

So, yeah, to be clear, it's not scratches.

I am also having the same problem, the screen cracked from middle, Today's products are called as ultra modern, latest technology, high-tech, yet these watches are delicate and short lived. Old days things used run for atleast 10 yrs, You would be lucky today if your gadgets live more than 2 years. I would say this is not advancement but degradation of products.

Companies know that in 1 year nothing will happen, so they give you warranty of 1 year, beyond that there is no guarantee.
