After downloading the new firmware for the Charge 3 my screen no longer wakes when rotating my wrist. I either have to double tap the screen or press the side button to wake the screen. Holding the side button in no longer takes me to a menu either. The device just vibrates 3 times when the side button is held. I restarted the device and continue to have the issues.
Any recommendations?

I had the same issue. What I did is simple. After going through messages in this chat forum.i long pressed the side button downward once. It opened the screen wake settings screen.it was in disabled mode. When I tapped on it, the screen wake is set to ON..there you go..

ANy ideas if it doesn't allow you to change status to active "awake" setting? Grayed area won't change after tapping.

I've never had that issue.
Have you tried a full reboot of the watch through its settings menu?

Me too, grayed out and doesn't let me change. I don't have a reboot on watch menu. Sure seems like every time there's an upgrade of software it causes a bunch of trouble! Love my charge 3, but tired of always having to reset things, just want it to continue working as is.
I get to the wake screen and it's grayed and doesn't let me change it? Any ideas?

Hello everyone! @PGST, welcome to the community forums!
If the Screen Wake setting is grayed out, it is possible that Sleep Mode on your Charge 3 is On. Take into consideration when this is On, turning your wrist won't cause the tracker's screen to turn on.
For this, press and hold the button and swipe left on Charge 3 for a faster way to access certain settings. Tap a setting to turn it on or off. When you turn off the setting, the icon appears dim with a line through it. Then you can also adjust the Screen Wake option in the quick settings.
On a side note, I believe you're familiar with the steps for a restart but you can also find the instructions here.
Hope this helps!

Thank you, I stumbled upon this, tapped the "sleep" button and found the "Wake" functioning. Also found the "dim" setting to correct that. After a couple of weeks, I have my Charge 3 working again. I had tried the reboot because my screen was so dim I couldn't even see it. After the reboot, everything went wrong and nothing was fixed. But now I'm good. Thanks
