I woke up at 5:30am and I noticed that my steps didn't restart. How/what can I do to get it to go back to zero?

Thank you

Thank you for sharing! It’s kind of fun starting the day with 12,000 steps 😂

I am very hopeful my tracker will reset at midnight tonight, as Fitbit Chat said it should. Meanwhile, Fitbit can see our steps for today, notwithstanding our stats were duplicated from yesterday.

Same with me. I found my old charge 2 that always showed lots of stairs incorrectly and got it working, although I have done 5 stairs sitting in my chair. The steps and time are correct. My newer charge 2 still shows yesterday’s totals.

Same here. Please advise! Hopefully it's not just "wait until tomorrow"!

Unfortunately...that's what I was told. Since there are many of us with the same issue, I think it was a software glitch with Daylight Savings time change. If it is fixable, it will automatically fix itself tonight at midnight.

Fitbit does have our actual steps (Chat rep this morning told me she could see I had done 6,013 steps today (which was about right since I had gone to the gym). So I am hopeful that tomorrow I can back out the duplication of steps from today. Meanwhile, I bet we all earn badges!!!

Sounds like a universal issue. Any response from support yet?

Glad I logged in here because I thought I was going mental. It seems to be a problem across the board, not just with my device. Whew.

No, not you, it's the tracker. Hopefully, they will fix themselves at midnight tonight. Fingers crossed!

Happy to report that Fitbit did reset at 12:00 AM Monday.  However, it shows I did 31,145 steps on Monday (because it carried over the 16,291 from Sunday).  How do I correct my Monday daily total to reflect what I actually did (14,854) - You can see that a detail screen on the phone apps knows the correct amount for Monday, but the daily total is still 31,145.

Did you figure out how to back out Monday's steps from Tuesday's?

Update: they are aware of the issue. I've been speaking with an agent and they are trying to reset the data.  It's because of Daylight Savings Time ... should fix itself tonight.  Just make a mental note to subtract the steps from today's count if you're keen.

I have the same issue. It just rolled over my steps from the previous day and has continued on.  Also I noticed that my stairs aren't getting calculated either.

I did not. I’m hoping that someone can tell me how to do this successfully. Does anyone from FitBit monitor this forum? Hopefully someone from the company could assist.

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear that your steps didn’t reset at midnight. This may happen when there is a change in timezone (due to travel or DST changes).  You can restart your device as this will help it reset the following midnight but it won’t remove the steps from the affected date.

Let me know how it goes.
