What’s up with the heart rate tracking no longer shows up in the Exercise tracker? It was working until last Sunday and hasn’t worked since.
*I have new Fitbit app update
*I have an Iphone 8
*changed HR in Settings from on to off to on again
*rebooted
what else to do?
Fitbit already replaced my Charge 3 device a couple months ago when I had black screen.

Nope I have the same version and it is not fixed. I believe this reflects them fixing it in android but not Apple.

I use my iPhone for Fitbit app and it’s working ok since the update. Sorry guys, not sure what the problem is but luckily mines ok now. Hope you’ll get it fixed soon!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was wondering what happened to that! Thought that I did something to turn it off. I have Charge 2 and been using the tracking. Noticed it was missing from 7/29th.
Fitbit, please put Time in Heart Rate Zone back in.

The same thing is happening to me as well, however I am using an android app. My last logged GPS run with heart rate tracking was on 7/25/19. Like everyone, if anyone finds a way to fix this, please let us know!

Both my wife and I are experiencing this problem while tracking exercising using the Fitbit app. We have Charge 3s and iPhones. The app shows heart rate data if you start exercise using the Fitbit, but if you start exercise using the phone app the heart rate data is not recorded. Since I like the audio prompts to let me know mile markers and the pace that I am running, I hope Fitbit resolves this quickly.
I found a temporary work around while we wait for Fitbit to fix this issue. I recorded my run by simultaneously tracking the exercise using the start feature on the Fitbit and pressing start in the app. When I finished running all the usual data showed up in the run log. Here is the exact sequence I used to track my run: I started recording in the app, then started the exercise function on the tracker. When I finished running, I stopped recording in the app, then hit finish on the tracker. After syncing the tracker the heart rate data was present in the logged exercise.

Thank you for the work around. I’ll give it a try.

Hi Jills3 and all you fellow sufferers, This is the 8th group I've found discussing this exact problem which started on July 29th and affects many different trackers. It also has been evident in FitBit app versions 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.3.1 At last count there are 82 users with this EXACT issues. Another group is at:
Many of us have been trying to get Customer Support to help us. This can be very frustrating but I think it is important. So please if you have the time, contact Customer Support either by email or Chat and tell them about this issue. So far they have suggested all sorts of things but nothing has worked. After 9 emails I'm about to receive a replacement tracker but I'm not hopeful that it will resolve the issue. If we do nothing but moan about the problem in a forum FitBit with do nothing.

While Fitbit still needs to fix this problem, Emzee1 suggested a work around (see above) which I tried and it worked. Thank you Emzee1! For the features I want (incl. route tracking & this TIHRZ), it requires you to “start” the Fitbit and the app, in the sequence explained by Emzee1, whereas if this problem was fixed, it just requires you to start only the app to get the TIHRZ shown as previously.

I spoke with Fitbit today by chat and he tried to convince me that this is how it has always worked. What followed was me giving several dates across 2 years where it had worked just fine and the July 29th it stopped. Please reach out to Fitbit support. Flood them with this issue. If it is a design change I feel like they should have let us know up front.
This conversation ended with him telling me I would get an email to follow up

Snitsos, I definitely will “chat” with them. My issue is same. And, they are lying when they tell you it has never worked that way. I have loads of screenshots with and many since 7/29 without.
Emzee1,
I will try this today, and upload feedback. Ty

Tried this and did not work for me
Just invested in the Fitbit Aria 2 or else I would have moved over to Garmin now.
Fitbit seems to not take this issue seriously at all.

snitsos, Danny is just plain wrong. FitBit Customer Support should be held to account. These are screen shots of data that I no longer get. The map along with the HR graph. Further more when you export the data to Strava you were able to do amazing things like see how your heart rate varied as you went up and down hills.

I noticed that my fitbit does not connect to the iPhone when I run. Get a phone with a X in the corner. Anyone else seen this?

I tried your solution, it works but then I get two different runs under exercise, see screenshot. At least I can now export the one with heartbeat to Strava and get my stats, but it is a lot of hassle doing it this way: I consider quitting Fitbit even though I really loved it and used it daily for since 2015. If at least support could answer us properly and honestly and take us serious, that would be a good start to keep me as a loyal customer. This is where Fitbit seems to fail now.

I might have found a (or another) workaround (tried with both the tracker and phone, but got two workouts logged).
Today I only used the tracker - did not start an activity in the app on my phone.
After syncing, the acitvity showed in the app, with the heart rate. I also noticed it shows the elevation - this was new to me (and welcome :-)).
(and no, I will never be a fast jogger 😉
Did (of course) not get voice feedback, but I used another app for that purpose

Hi everyone. Thanks for joining this thread, and I'm sorry for the delay in my response.
Our team has received feedback about the heart rate not appearing after syncing your workouts. I understand how you're feeling about this, and I'm sorry that you're experiencing this issue. They're working on this situation based on your comments to bring a solution as soon as possible. While I don't have a time frame when this fix will come, be sure to keep the Fitbit app and your Fitbit device updated.
@SunsetRunner, @hicksiehx, @inahill and @Zinemone, I appreciate you for sharing screenshots of your exercises. @snitsos, thank you also for contact our team and sharing their response.
@Bernt-Inge.no, regarding to your inquiry, there are some factors that may prevent your Fitbit device from connecting to GPS. If those factors don't apply to you, make sure that the Fitbit app is allowed to use your phone's GPS, as well that the GPS can continue tracking while your phone is locked.
Feel free to reply back if you have another question.

Hi - So for the last few days when I start the exercise from my charge 3 it records the heart beat rate, although the issue still persists when starting the exercise on app. However, I now cannot see interval timer option on my charge 3. It used to be available in the exercise option on charge 3 but has disappeared in the last few days and the interval settings on app has also disappeared. Can you pl look into this as well? Anyone else facing this issue?

Hi,
I have the same issue with my Charge 3 that I bought just a few days ago - the heart rate zones are not displayed when starting the exercise from the phone app (android for me), but they are displayed when starting the exercise from the Charge 3 band. However, in this last case, I get no GPS/splits info !
Since it seems this issue has been happening for a while now, I'll be direct with the fitbit staff : when is your software developer coming back from vacation to fix this bug ? 🙂

Hi everybody,
I think I may have a solution. I've played a bit with the band/android app and found that this is actually a sync issue between the phone and the band: when you start the exercise from the band, it doesn't sync with the phone to start reading GPS data, and vice-versa, when you start the exercise from the phone, it doesn't "tell" the charge band to start recording heart rate, so in the end, you only get either gps OR heart rate, depending on how you started the exercise.
I've reinstalled the app and found that sometimes, I get a permanent notification in the android notification bar that looks like this :
In my opinion, it is imperative that you get that notification to be always on. In some cases when it disappeared, I got it back by either reinstalling the app, or enabling notifications from both the band and the android app.
Second, you MUST start the exercise from the band. When you tap on the band Exercise -> Run -> Start, a new display is shown, with a big "Play" button and above it says "Connecting...". You HAVE to wait 10 seconds for it to connect, and say "Connected". Only then you can press the big "Play" button.
Once you do this, the notification on the phone changes to something like :
At this point I got both HR data and Splits/GPS data on my recorded run.
