What is the 4 digit code to pair the device?

OK. Try going through the setup process again.
In the account section of the app (the icon looks like an ID card) select "set up a device" and the select the Charge 3. This will restart the setup.
Also, have you checked that your phone works with fitbits at www.fitbit.com/devices ?
Finally, does the Charge 3 screen seem to be working? It should be showing a message asking you to set up the fitbit at www.fitbit.com/setup If it's not showing that then it may need charging first

My Charge 3 screen is black--won't work at all. Have tried resetting over a dozen times. Unpaired to re-pair as suggested on forum. Now I can't pair because I need a 4 digit code from my screen--which DOES NOT WORK!!!.

I have a charge 3..it was working great. Somehow the app changed from showing steps..to calories. It does not want to pair and asks for a 4 digit code. Where do I get this code

I have the same issue, to compound the problem this is already a replacement and is already out of warranty from the store. I tried multiple times re-starting it and it does not work. Product/brand not good. Might switch to 9x lower priced tracker.

I just started having the same problem today. I even uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but nothing worked. Even the tricks for the 8 or 15 secs while the tracker was plugged in. I understand they updated the app for Charge 3 a couple of weeks ago and they must have totally screwed it up. Can't be good marketing for Fitbit.

I can get my charge 3 to to show the 4 digit number. The watch vibrates but does not show the number during setup

I’m just lost without it 🙁. It was still keeping stats that I could see on the phone app but the actual fit bit screen was dust-
I don’t know what I was thinking when I deactivated device and then try to sync it again with a black screen 😜:pistol:.
