Many of us posted a need to have floor counting as part of the next Alta version because we didn't want the bulky Charge. So disappointed to see a new model replace the Alta without that feature. Fitbit was able to fit altimeter in the One so should be able to fit it into the new Inspire. Looks lovely but will not buy, would not have gotten Alta if it was clear it was a step back from my One instead of step forward. Everyone beware as your feedback seems to fall on deaf ears at Fitbit.

Not everyone wants or needs the ability to count stairs. The Zip and Alta lines where very popular without stair counting. The Inspire line is designed to be a marriage between the two.
If someone is interested in stairs we have the Charge 3.
Sorry I don't understand buying a product without looking into what it does, then getting upset at the manufacturer because it doesn't meet your needs. Would you buy a car without knowing anything about it, what if it is only after purchasing you discover that it seats two and you need it to seat 4. I got an idea, let's ask the manufacturer to redesign this popular car because I thought it seated 4. After all it is the manufacturer that made a mistake because I thought it was a 4 seater.

Then for now, add your vote to the feature request and consider a different model.
I see that no one has taken the time to add their vote letting Fitbit know that they want this option.
Please also be a waste that Fitbit does not try and make every model for the needs of every person.

Hi, Breaker1,
I think we just have to accept that there are some people who can, perhaps, only feel good about themselves by being unnecessarily downputting to others?
As the originator of this thread, I am so sorry that what started off as a fairly innocuous comment on my disappointment with one aspect of my purchase, now seems to have deteriorated into an opportunity for someone to act like a supercilious know-all at the expense of more ordinary mortals like myself, and apparently get enjoyment from trying to make us feel small/silly/stupid.
Let's just forget it, and get on and enjoy our lives!

@Marcieg are you asking about unsubscribing? This is explained in the getting started.
@Breaker1 sorry that the salesman did not do his homework. Stairs are not mentioned as an option on the box. To vote one would press the thumbs up.
Sorry @Blackcat99. I'm just being a realist. Even if Fitbit redesigned the inspire, made the case bigger and put it on sale, it would not be called an inspire, plus it would not help those that already purchased the unit.

Thanks for your reply. I think I voted now. How do I know I did, though. If I push the thumbs up button it goes from 1 to 0, but it was already at 1 before I did anything.

I completely agree. The Fitbit One provided something that the other Fitbit's did not, a small easily concealable Fitbit option. I don't understand why this product was eliminated without an equal or better option. A lot of my friends do not want to wear the bracelet Fitbit.

This is not an accepted solution to my need. Why is Fitbit not listening to the customer?

Have you contacted Fitbit or voted in the suggestion?

BTW @BringBackTheOne the Inspire has a lot more technology than the Fitbit One.

Loved the Fitbit One, but mine finally quit working. I just got the Inspire and purchased a clip for it. I like it except that it does not count stairs. Climbing stairs is part of my daily exercise routine. I am disappointed in it not having that feature.

Terrie, that is my situation exactly. I wish they would make clips available for more of their products. My Inspire has now quit tracking sleep. Have reset device, no fix. Will be asking for replacement.
